Condition and number of showers and toilets. They are described as being modern, but sadly my family, plus my friends on another pitch, all disagreed as did a number of other campers I overheard whilst there.
The older toilet blocks up the steps were just disgusting, and I've been to Glastonbury festival many times so am definitely not snobby with loos!
The showers I used stayed on for a maximum 20 seconds at a time! I understand the whole concept of avoiding waste water, but come on, who showers for 20 seconds?
Another one was freezing cold without even getting tepid, resulting in me having to then get back into my robe with all my gear to move to the next block. I know they had a plumbing problem over the BH weekend so maybe this is why, but even to have just a maximum of 8 showers when the plumbing IS ok just isn't enough on a large site. Nobody wants to spend time queuing for one when on holiday.
The overall cleanliness just wasn't great - presumably the (friendly) cleaning lady was only there once a day, which just isn't enough for a busy BH weekend.
However, somebody buy the lady a feather duster for the cobwebs, which clearly have been there for many weeks! Yes, camping is an outside hobby, and I am not averse to bugs whatsoever, but there is no need for thick cobwebs above your head whilst showering.
And somebody also please water the big planter near the shower block, the poor thing has about given up on life!
Separately, unless you are driving, the walk into Tattenhall is a bit dicey - there are no pavements for at least half a mile, and whilst the road isn't too busy, it's still not ideal, especially with kids and/or dogs.
