EVERYTHING!
We are experienced Campers and this site without doubt is one of the best in the country.
Set in beautiful fields in the beautiful Cotswolds, with perfect grassland for tents and vehicles - the toilets and showers are great too, as is the utility shack for washing pots and pans, collecting water etc. You get a decent phone signal here too (4G with Vodafone).
Call the number on the gate on arrival, go choose wherever suits you to set up (plots are not allocated) and within about 10 minutes the owners (we met John) will come and meet you wherever you are to give you the brief on the site and lay of the land. You can hire a fire-pit and buy logs here too, or bring your own.
You can visit the horses in the next field, or walk a little further down the lane to the river, or head about 2 miles into the beautiful little town of Mereton-in-Marsh which has plenty of pubs and restaurants, a Tesco Express and even an Aldi and large Co-Op too (they all stocked plenty of ice for cooler boxes when we were there in May).
There is a wealth of things to do and see if you drive around the Cotswolds, such as Bourton on the Water (the Venice of the Cotswolds), the Rollright Stones (Neolithic and Bronze Age megalithic monuments), Broadway Tower (the Cotswold's highest castle from which you can see 16 different counties) - there is even a Nuclear Bunker (deactivated) you can visit.
The Pebbly Barn Farm site is huge, spanning a couple of fields and the pristine grass (mixed with clover) underfoot is like a plush carpet - it's such good quality The site is very level and you even get a fairly decent sunrise and sunset if you're in the right place. Not much light pollution at all, so we did plenty of star-gazing and saw lots of shooting stars and satellites.
We absolutely love this site. The toilets and showers (individual shacks - 1 of each for Men, and 1 of each for Women) were immaculate and there was nearly always piping hot water. You can wash all your pots and pans in the utility shack too that has 3 x washing / water stations. There are separate bins to recycle rubbish too.
John the owner was brilliant and was there whenever anyone needed him for anything - such a nice guy and always had time to chat with everyone about anything. He even gave all the kids a lift around the site in the back of the Land Rover, much to their excitement.
You CANNOT go wrong booking this site, and if you've never been to the Cotswolds before or are thinking of returning - then get yourself booked into Pebbly Barn Farm.
