Clean bathroom facilities, friendly owners and lovely surroundings with a direct walk to Dimmingsdale.

Close to the road.

Really flat, even pitches. Ground was excellent. Toilets were clean, open 24 hours and really near the pitches. We only met Margaret on site, but she was lovely and helpful. Site is really near local points of interest. Bricks provided for keeping barbecues off the ground.

No pot wash facilities. Toilets were pub toilets so it was a bit odd brushing your teeth and washing your face in them. No showers.

The location was very close to Alton Towers, the facilities were clean and perfect for my family. The host Margaret was warm and welcoming.

Nice quiet pitch in a sheltered rural setting. Good food and nice beer. Weather was very wet next morning so I opted for full breakfast in the Inn instead of cooking in the tent. Great. Friendly and helpful staff. Very reasonable prices. Recommended.

The weather.

Only stayed for one night but loved all of it. From choosing a pitch when we arrived to our lovely tea on the evening and breakfast in the morning. Will definitely be back in future.

Nothing at all.

From arrival we were greeted with pure kindness, shown where we needed to be and explained breakfast hours, if we needed anything where to go etc.
We stayed for 3 nights and done 2 days in Alton towers, the first day whilst at the park it heavily rained, we came back and our sons beds were soaking wet thanks to our tent leaking. The lovely lady offered to put their sleeping bags in the tumble dryer whilst we were eating. The fires were also on so giving us a warm and comfortable evening. The young lad behind the bar lent us a pack of cards and we had a lovely time relaxing drinking.
Day two and we were greeted again asked how our tent was, we had lovely trays of tea, then they brought out a complimentary slice of chocolate cake and candle and sing happy birthday to our youngest! The staff were very kind and interactive, told us the history of the building and the pool table! They really couldn’t have been kinder or more accommodating to us as guests.

We stayed for 1 night in early July. Arrived and phoned the assistance number on the door. Margaret came and welcomed us, and told us where we should go. We were free to choose a space. The site itself is very basic - there's a water tap and access to the pub loos. No showers or washing up facilities. This is explained in their write-up, and I feel is reflected well in the more than fair pitch price. If you know you want a shower, then it's probably not the place for you. It's not far to the loos, and they were clean and well stocked. There were sinks for a wash if wanted. We never had to wait. We knew all this and it didn't put us off. There is obviously still some work going on on the site. There is a nice little beer garden, and a space for games with the kids. Its so close to Alton Towers, you can hear some of the rides in the distance, and this place is perfect to stay after a day out there. It is a couple of minutes drive into Alton village, where there is a Londis and a couple of pubs. The Inn at the site opened at 7 - Wow! What a fabulous place. It was quaint and comfortable and quirky too. We spent the evening on the amazing pool table, and didn't even notice the unusual dartboard till the end of the night - will definitely bring my darts next time. We ordered food from the specials board, which was delicious - well cooked and flavoured and plentiful. All the meals we saw looked good, and the desserts looked gorgeous too - sadly we were too full at that point - another thing to look forward to next time. Very reasonably priced too. In fact our whole evening - Bottle of wine, pints (and pints) of Guinness, substantial meal each, and an evening's worth of tokens for the pool table cost just over £50. We didn't try the breakfast offering - which is served 8-9 am - perfect for those up and off to the theme park - but I believe it's very good, and again excellent value at £9.99 all inclusive. Cereals, toast, juice, tea, coffee, full English etc. We had a fabulous stay. All the staff are friendly, approachable and helpful - Margaret is amazing! We absolutely loved our stay here and will definitely return. Thankyou Peakstones Inn.
