An excellent camp site!
My wife and I camped here a couple of weekends ago. It’s a smallish site with currently just three tent pitches and two pods, though they are well spread out and you are surrounded by beautiful countryside, so you get a real sense of fresh air and space.
As a nice touch, each of the tent pitches has its own private hut with a sink and a loo – a luxury to which we are not accustomed! They were immaculately clean, as was the handy kitchen/shower block which was stocked with pretty much everything you need or may have forgotten to bring (matches, firelighters, logs etc.). Everything was priced very fairly, and could be purchased via an honesty box. There’s also a fridge and a freezer which you can use to store your own food and drink, and there’s produce in there you can buy, including sausages and bacon, fresh from the smallholding.
As per previous reviews, the owner, Claire, is a lovely lady – we didn’t have any issues but I got the impression that, had we done so, she would have done everything she could to help. Having chatted with her, we were also very impressed with her whole ethos about running a camp site – eco-friendly in her approach, with a genuine emphasis on making sure all campers enjoy their stay, rather than running it purely as a money-making machine. We loved it and hope to return very soon – thank you, Claire!
P.s. There’s a great pub, “The Holland Arms”, just a few minutes away which does great, home-cooked food – it’s closed certain weekdays but you can look it up online…
