we are sorry you were disappointed with your stay this is definitely not what we want.
We do ask all guests on all of our booking platforms and on the arrival information sent out to all guests for dogs to be kept on leads and under control at all times, we would like to reassure guests that if the Oakwood farm Team are informed of any uncontrollable dogs we would certainly take some action but we can only do this if we are informed.
Other points we would like to defend regarding waste disposal and refuse collection are our Elson point is enclosed on two sides by wooden fencing with the front open for easy access which is cleaned on a daily basis and we ask guests to leave all facilities clean and tidy ready for the next guest. Our scheduled refuse collection is twice weekly, a Friday before the busy weekend periods and a Tuesday after the weekend periods. As you arrived on a Monday the refuse bins will probably have been full ready for Tuesdays collection, however, for the rest of your stay the refuse bins would not have been overflowing. As a business it just would not be feasible to pay for refuse collections before the bins were full.
We do have a plan of works to extend the Shower/Toilet block facilities and hope to start that as soon as possible. although it would be virtually impossible to guarantee vacant facilities for when each guest would want to use them we will try our best.

No hot water in the basins or in the washing up area. Dirty washing up water took ages to drain away even though this had been reported. Luke warm water in the showers. It is one of the most expensive sites I have stayed on but the welcome and facilities were poor.

We are sorry you were unable to find our office open, as a small site with a small team we cannot open the office 24/7. Peter the owner of Oakwood Farm does live on site and we have contact numbers available.
Office hours are Mon - Thurs 09:30 - 16:00. Friday 10:00 - 19:00. Saturday 09:00 - 17:00 and Sunday 10:00 - 13:00. Contact numbers are also given for out of hours on guest arrival emails and are also on the office window.
We did indeed have a report of the washing up sink being blocked which was dealt with within 10 minutes of the report. We were unfortunately not made aware of any problems with the water temperatures for us to investigate. Any reported problems will be addressed as soon as possible by the team.
