Nightingales Camping have a wonderful shop which has reasonably priced ice creams! It's family run - Victoria and Georgie were organised, very helpful and showed us to our pitch after first helping us find the perfect location for us. E.g. Some shade from the trees. They placed a portaloo near our tent to make it easier to use the loos! Thank you! Very nice setting with lots of wildlife, pheasants, deer, bats and lovely sunsets! We both agreed that we will be back in a flash! We loved that they had an arrive anytime and leave anytime policy as it gave a relaxed vibe. Fire-pits were provided and wood was available for a reasonable price.

Improvements to make the place better would include how to make the toilet block next to the shop cleaner and fresher. And as expected this is a working farm so it was unsurprising that the tractor was being driven around the field to turn the hay, however this was a little noisy and disturbed the solitude, so how to improve this would be that in a perfect world, this would have been done on a weekday when no one was in the field.

Charlotte the farmers daughter was lovely, the kids adored her and she was so friendly and helpful. The farmer and his wife were really lovely too. The field was great for the dog, I could let him off the lead with no fear of him getting near livestock. The farm shop was amazing too, well stocked and fairly priced. The vintage tractor parade was loved by the kids and they even got to sit on them. Really couldn't have asked for more. They even collected the portaloos each day and cleaned them all out and then returned them to wherever the most people were pitched. We will definitely be going back. The football and basketball pitch were great too and the kids loved jumping on the straw bales.

The showers were cold and one stopped working but the farmer fixed it straight away when asked. However, I enjoy rustic camping so don't need a shower but those who prefer glamping could be disappointed. It's basic but amazing.

Loved the relaxed owners of site, woodland pitches, on-site farm shop, not crowded and the working farm with 1 day old piglets.

Well-designed fields and wooded area. Warm welcome from owner. Nature-friendly feel of large areas of uncut fields. Hot showers. Porta-toilets were fabulously clean and fresh.

Nothing really

Quiet location, basic campsite. Only 2 shower and flushing toilet cubicles. Ports loos scattered around the fields. Washing up area with kettle, toaster and microwave.
Great farm shop on site.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Not sure what there is to do locally as only stopped one night.
Good site for group camping as you can choose you pitch. Plenty of tucked away areas.
Very laid back feel.
Would return.

Imagine there would be a long wait for showers in high season. Maybe take alternative option eg solar shower.

The whole stay

Nothing to dislike. We had an amazing weekend nothing to much trouble just left alone to do what we wanted. the young Lady running the campsite is a credit to you so polite and patient. It would of been handy if you had some logs for sale on the back of your quad when you came around the field to do your checks im sure us campers would buy to save putting them in the car. Again thank you for a amazing weekend.

Camping in a wooded are with ability to have a fire. Enough space between pitches to feel private. Car parking close to pitch. Only an hour away from home and close to towns with amenities. Amazing beef from farm shop. Jolly nice staff running the place.

Bit of a trek to get water, but easily solved with bigger jerry can!
