Quad bike, animals, safe for children to play due to cars parked away from tents

Would have liked more space between tents and less noisy campers

Nice place to camp, pond near by and not far to go to visit the beaches during the day my kids enjoyed the weekend here.

Only thing I had problems was when it was bed time and quite times is ment to be after 11 trying to get our kids sleep while other camping think It was ok to blast must till 2 am and kids were still playing shouting gone past half 12 didn't get much sleep but it's not owners fault just wish other campers where a bit more consideration for others sleeping.

I can’t say there was much we liked about this site.

However it has toilets wash facilities so does have the essentials for camping

Not happy that we were given instructions to pitch up in one area. Then once everything was set up was told the can couldn’t go on that pitch. Moved to the edge of a cow shed. Which was off putting and smelly.

Eventually moved again to a more suitable area but without ehu.

The pool my daughter wouldn’t go in because it looked filthy.

We had booked for 2 nights and packed up and left at 07.30 after just 1 night.!

We liked the 'traveller's' feel about this site !

We liked the 'authentic' mud pit outside the toilets !
We liked the 'game' of step over the water with the electric cable in it on the way to the toilets !
We liked the 'jovial' comment from the owner that people on this site are to drunk to walk to cars never mind drive them !
We liked the 'fire regulation' 1 . 5 meter distance between most tents as they were that crammed in (and most had fire pits going) !
We liked the 'surprise' that you can't park next to your tent although there is no mention of this on Pitchup !
We liked the 'signage' that then stated the owner is not responsible for theft of any cars or valuables.
We liked the 'verbal abuse' that my fiancee got when she walked the dog on the dog field across the road that we were told we could use !
We liked that the 'camping' field was actually a donkey field !
We liked 'conqurin' with most other reviews that this site is terrible.
We liked the 'bargain' of a price which was MORE than we have paid on loads of other Pitchup sites with a real camping feel, charm, cleanliness, pleasant owners and well kept pitches.
We will like the 'feedback' that this owner will no doubt leave to this as he doesn't seem to like having the truth pointed out in these reviews.
And we loved leaving.

Not a lot to like really

Everything. Toilets were just a shanty building. owner was rude. Dirty toilets 1 shower in each toilet that didn't work all the time. No hot water was only luke warm. Different prices for everyone. It appeared as though he made it up as he went along. Didn't take card. Even refused to give me any change.
Extra charges for everything. Pool for kids was just an inflatable paddling pool. Never saw bouncy castle go up.

Secure gated site with cars parked away from tents so children can play safely.
Owner laid back but present and good with children, taking them on the quad bike, letting them feed the animals and supplying equipment for them to play on.
Obviously, not 5 star equipment as it's not a 5 star site, but still fun to those of us grateful for the opportunity.
10 minute drive to Southport and even less to retail parks, McDonald's, Tesco and loads more convenient stores.
A basic, but pleasant site. More suitable for the down to Earth camper, rather than the home comfort ones.
It is easy enough to find, if you do your research and read the information texts from the owner.

Just a few things.
As mentioned, it's a very basic site, with basic toilets to match, but the shower was nice and hot.
Secondly, my family didn't sleep due to the noise from other campers, some till the very early hours of the morning, despite the 11pm rule. Understandably, people are on holiday and having a good time, but it would have been nice if someone could have had a friendly word.
And lastly, to no fault of the campsite, the lazy campers who just dumped their crap near the bins, letting it spill every where. Have some respect!

Great location for shops but out the way enough. Friendly owner. Toilets. Showers.

The owner was very friendly and it was nice to see the animals - chickens, ponies and a pheasant. The children seemed to love it. A really lovely pub /restaurant 30 minutes walk away.

The toilet facility was not great and while the shower in the ladies was new and very good it was in a tiny cubicle with nowhere to put towel/ clothes /washbag.
Pitches very close together.
Very basic site - more a field than a camp site with functional but delapadated prefab toilet block and only one sink for washing up. The outdoor pool was two paddling pools.

The actual site is so peaceful

Ferals who let their kids Scream their heads off all day every day

Ferals who let their kids roam and that includes entering our tent area. Go away kid.
