I cannot rave about this place enough. Stunning location, beautiful views, and one of the best wild camping experiences I’ve had. Cannot wait to go back and we are already planning our next trip!
When we arrived the farmer met us at the entrance. We don’t drive so a friend dropped us off….We didn’t have an off road car so without hesitation he emptied the back of his and gave us a lift. Showed us loads of different spots and let us pick where we wanted to pitch. Such a friendly man and so hospitable.
Once he left, we were left to our own devices in this stunning countryside. Did not see anyone unless we hiked down to the farm. So it really had a great wild camping feel.
At the farm they have a really good and clean toilet block. Plus charging points and fresh water. Very handy. Bit of a hike from where we camped but that was the plan as we wanted to be as far into the Wilderness as possible!
Once our trip was over we had planned on getting the bus back to the main town. However, we didn’t realise that the bus only runs once a week (very remote location). We called the farmer for advice and he was beyond helpful. He looked at other options and then decided to drive us himself! Drove us all the way to town and was just the nicest man!
Later on he even messaged to check we had got home okay.
As I whole I can’t rate this place high enough. Great area, great facilities, and a farmer who is just the nicest and most welcoming man.
I cannot wait for our next trip!!
