Aloha, Thanks for the review. I'm sorry about the noise. I was away on the Friday/Saturday but my father was watching the site and I dealt with all the WhatsApp enquiries/calls. He didn't report anything and no one contacted us to raise an issue. Usual procedure is a walk through at 10pm to politely remind people to stop any music and drop the noise. We then repeat this every half hour or so as necessary. If you call me, I'd be happy to offer you a discount when re-booking. As to the fire pits, that's not quite right. We've given up selling them as so many kg given if we're supplied with softwood one week, we can't fit enough in a bag to make 10kg as it's much lighter than hardwood. Either way it's currently £7.50 for a large bag. Last week I used new bags which were twice the size hence one bag. As to a "small bag" of kindling, they're standard size next with enough kindling to start multiple fires (one bag lasts me a week at home). Yes we also include fire lighters and matches. Also considering: 1. We incur costs in designing, manufacturing, cleaning, repairing, refilling, and hiring out the pits; I am not sure what you think an appropriate charge would be. We're no longer allowing campers to bring their own fire pits for the usual reasons (burning grass, burning tanalised/unseasoned smokey wood, dumping hot fire pits in the hedge, setting bins on fire etc). Cheers, D |

Hi Robert, Thanks for the review. We're sorry that not everything was to your liking, however: 1. Yes, the showers won't work if you don't press the button. 2. It says when you book that it's a 6amp supply and we confirm this immediately upon booking in case it's a problem. Some campers are more 'power hungry' than others. Putin would be a terrible customer for example. We've also confirmed to you that it's actually a 10amp supply for tourers. It's rarely a problem to be honest. Out of interest, did you try the electric and it tripped? If so, did it trip because you overloaded it, or because you had an earth fault? 3. As to the tone of my response, I vaguely recall the review and I would only seek to match the tone of your message Mr Block caps. 4. As to footpath information, we sent you quite a comprensive arrival email along with "if you need anything contact us etc", but you are right, it's all on the website too. Reading between the lines, a lot of this would have been avoided, had you spoken to us first. If I had one gripe it would be a handful of guests have an issue, don't mention it on site then START WRITING REVIEWS IN BLOCK CAPS... Anyway, be happy, be courteous and perhaps book a hotel with a spa and a nice evening meal next Valentines Day. Cheers, D |

Aloha, Thanks for confirming we have good clean facilities with shops 10 mins away (not forgetting our reception shop for the basics). As to your dislikes: 1. Not sure what you would like us to do with potholes nor maniacs; I am neither. Cheshire East and to be fair most of the country struggles with these. We report the potholes/flooding and have even offered to contribute to their repair. Beyond that, what would you like us to do? 2. The main camping field is on a gradient as advertised. There are flat areas too. This may change as we develop the site but you were sited on the flat area. Not sure what the issue is here. 3. As to not much to do unless you travel; you've already said Whitchurch is 10 mins away. Aside from that we're on a walking/cycling route, there's gin distilleries/cafes to visit, award winning pubs to eat at, treetop adventures, marinas, wildlife, stargazing, splunking (made the last one up). We aren't Centreparcs if that's what you mean. 4. Tents are given a 6 amp supply given in the summer, many campers choose to bring a lot of electrical kit including domestic kettles, a couple of 2kw heaters, 7kw grills, 6 foot tv's (yep) and even domestic fridges (i.e. not camping kit). We don't have the capacity for 20-30 campers to do that and we can't afford a nuclear power station. Most campers are fine with 6 amps so we're not sure what the issue is unless you brought all your electrical items from home and turn them on at the same time. 5. BBQ/fire pits not allowed unless you use theirs - incorrect. The policy is currently use what you like so long as the base is at least 12 inches from the deck. If it isn't chances are you're going to burn a hole in the grass. As we keep having to have the argument with customers that their firepit is special and produces no heat, we're seriously considering banning customers bringing their own. Further, we commonly have campers throwing their own cheap fire pits in the waste skip causing fires. The flyerpits we have avoids all of these problems by design. Hope you find somewere else to your liking in the future. Cheers, D |
Aloha,
Thanks for the review. Are we talking about noise after 10pm? Our rules are reasonable noise before 10. Quiet after 10. There were no noise issues raised when you stayed.
Cheers,
D
