Nice site, friendly with good facilities

Field was fab, facilities were great ! Location perfect.

Great welcome from the host. The campsite is really pleasant. I paid for the fire pit and I recommend it as it really adds to the experience. The facilities were modern and clean. Good showers.

- easy to find and access with clear signposts for entrance! (Couldn't miss it)
- owner greeted us with a warm welcome and very friendly
- lots of space to choose from with "unlimited" pitch size!
- fire pits/bbqs allowed with wood sold on site.
- showers were free, clean, hot a d spacious!
- pot wash area was great.
- all facilities were clearly signposted and easy to find on site.
- lovely quiet site at night
- lots of families and children were on site so made it feel more enjoyable!
- 15 minutes drive from lovely cafe, on way to Llangollen with lots to do and see. Ice cream, pubs along the river, horse drawn canal boat rides, lots of shops!
We had a great weekend with friends.

Water point was in front field... as far as we could see there wasn't one in the back field so had to go to front foe water... but I mean that is all!!!!! And not even a big deal.

The view was lovely and the non electric site is really spacious. They're dog friendly and allowed campfires.

Personally, from the moment we signed in I felt like a burden to the owner. Once we set up and were settled, I went to collect the kindling we bought. I caught the owner mid-conversation so I was happy to wait patiently. She didn't acknowledge me but lady she was talking to did. The owner looked at me with discuss. I apologised for interrupting, I just wanted to collect the kindling I bought. The owner looked at the lady she was originally talking to, as if to just carry on talking (didn't say anything to me). The lady quickly ended her conversation and said bye. The owner started talking to another visitor and walked away. I patiently waited at the entrance and after about 10 mins of watching the owner rummage around she came over with a plastic bag with sticks and newspaper. Considering I bought 2 bags and the site rules are "You must purchase kindling from the site if you wish you have a campfire", it was awful. Genuinely, it lasted 15mins. She also said she wants it out by 11:30pm. Which was fine but lots of other visitors carried their fires on until about 1am. So, she really wasn't that bothered. Also, she must of gave them alot of kindling to have kept them going that long.

After our first night, we shocked to see the feild starting to fill with Sheep from the feild next door. I tried to call the owner 3 times (no answer) before seeing staff were actually moving the sheep from one feild to another. This explains why the feild is full of sheep poop. So, if you are taking children, bare that in mind.

On our last night they was a large group of D of E students. Which they put on the large feild with less toilets so it was constant ques. Which also brings me to, the women have 1 toilet, whilst the men have 3. Makes no sense since men pee where ever they want. I also watched a pregnant woman have to que up to use the toilet so many times and I just felt so bad for her.

Personally, wouldn't recommend this site. I have stayed in better places for less or similar money and not felt like this afterwards.

Loved - absolutely everything!! It is definately a family run camp site and you can tell this from the warm welcoming and help and support throughout our stay. We have 2 ASD children and they can't wait to go again - especially all loved the sheep rounding going through the field, it was amazing for us all to watch. (We understand that this might not be typical but was a brilliant added bonus!)
Stayed for the first time yesterday - back today, have already rebooked!
Amazing, fantastic, I'm not really sure what else to say. Absolutely no issues at all and the fact we have re-booked the same night home is testament to how much we loved Llyn Rhys.

Absolutely beautiful camping site, facilities great and clean, owners are so friendly, would definitely recommend to friends and family, we will be coming back. Llangollen 8 miles away, and ponderosa is nearby with amazing scenery.

Great big field loads of space to pitch up choice of space. Stunning views . Clean toilet blocks . Nice flat spaces. Not crowded despite half term close for ruthin and Llangollen

Beautiful peaceful site with so much room! I believe it was quieter than usual when we were there but it could be much busier and still lots of space. Christine was so friendly and helpful. V.clean bathrooms and showers. Great location, only 15 mins to Llangollen over the Horseshoe Pass. Very much recommend!
