Remote location was quiet, and sheltered. Trees in the field meant it broke up pitches between campers. Lovely family who own the field came to check on we were ok and explained all the facilities, very friendly.

Beautiful views, relatively peaceful depending on where you are pitched and how busy it gets, everyone there when we were there on a reasonably busy weekend were all very respectful of noise levels so it was a really nice relaxed atmosphere. There is a small basic unisex toilet block consisting of three cubicles with proper porcelain toilets and each with a stainless steel hand basin, there is also a male urinal cubicle to the right hand end of the toilet block. Toilet roll and soap are not provided. There is a chemical toilet disposal point to the left side end of the toilet block but it's none flushing so it's not for the squeamish, you will come face to face with the previous users toilet contents when you lift the drain lid (we did) lol. There is a water point located on the stone wall/fence half way down the gravel entrance track
There are fire pits available on site and fire wood is readily available for sale on site by the very friendly and helpful owner who brings it around regularly for those who like to sit by an open fire. Only wood bought on site can be burnt on site. This is a good idea as the wood sold is good quality, not rubbish unseasoned wet wood or old scrap wood that would cloud the entire site with smelly and possibly toxic smoke when being burnt. We have Three and EE mobile phone/data service, but neither could get more than two, occasionally three bars of signal on our phones so best pre download any films or TV shows you might want to watch on your mobile devices whilst away. The site is a great base for walking, cycling, trail running etc in the local peaks, or visiting the umpteen local attractions . It is a ten to fifteen minute easy leisurely walk via quiet narrow country lane into local village of Over Haddon which has a pub/hotel serving food and drinks. I believe there is a footpath from the site into the village but can't confirm as we didn't use it. There is a bus stop in the village but despite the bus companies website stating there is an hourly bus service (#172), the bus service actually stopped running in September 2023, so no bus service available nearby (not that we could find via google search of local bus services) . Bakewell is about an hour on foot via mostly quiet country lanes and there are also trials and footpaths available. Obviously it's the peak district so it's a very hilly route into Bakewell so a certain level of fitness and common sense (if walking on the lanes/road route) would be required if setting out to Bakewell and back on foot. Overall it is a very relaxed and chilled out site with basic facilities. We would and WILL definitely visit again.

Elsan point isn't for the squeamish or faint hearted.

Loved the site & the amazing views. Toilet facilities were adequate for what we required. Fire pit available to purchase which was great as evenings were chilly. Neil the owner was lovely & friendly & happy to chat😊 We plan to revisit as soon as we can.

No frills site with clean toilets and drinking water tap, pub with lovely food about 20 minutes walk down the road and beautiful views across the dale. Cows in the next field for the kids to enjoy. Cars on the pitch field.

Couldn't find where to hire a firepit/logs and no information on walks local to the site, not anything that disrupted our stay.
