Access to toilets/showers up a flight of iron stairs above rowing club. Noisy petrol generator fired up close to camper in the morning for groundworks. Club users parked very close right next to camper using it as overflow car park and not happy when asked to move despite explaining safety reasons.

There's really nothing to dislike about this site. Even a children's Halloween party in the club early in the evening had zero effect on the campers.

Amazing spot to stay when visiting Hereford. Exceeds value for money by miles! Can't praise the team enough for how kind and welcoming they were, chatted for ages, checked in on me throughout my two night stay and even let me use their reception plugs when I was in need! Central location to the city (only a very short stroll) with access to the river via slipway for kayakers/rowers/paddleboarders to launch. The rowing club itself and its facilities are kept so clean, the keycode system ensures only users of the campsite can access and with the same locking system for the gate, security feels good and site feels safe. There were many more vans (only a few people in tents, maybe owing to the bad weather), in high season this may change, though the layout means it's never disorganised. Pitches were flat and well mown. I didn't personally make use of it, but the clubhouse has weekend breakfast buffet deals which were very well priced (fry up smelled amazing!) plus an active array of daily events and bookings taking place; can imagine it is a busy community facility, which is great to see. Would stay again when walking the Wye Valley Way trail or for a SUP venture on the Wye in better conditions!

Nothing to note! It was unprecedented stormy weather so parts of the access track (where the surface has worn away) were getting muddy, if erosion control becomes an issue in the wet weather with the number of vans/motorhomes on site, maybe geogrid or grasscrete on the concourse could be useful and prevent stuck vehicles. The adjacent main road was quite noisy but I still slept very well with foam earplugs.
