Easy to find, very friendly owners. Basic site but has all the essentials for an excellent value stay. Super quiet location. I'd happily return. Fantastic pub up the road called the Bear (5 min drive).

These aren't negatives, but just me pointing out a few ways of potentially improving things after my first impressions. The driveway is a tad bumpy - I'd suggest making this more level somehow, either by putting some cheap gravel down or a few shovels of concrete in the most uneven areas. I'd suggest adding a few small solar powered lights around the gate and toilet block area, so it's easier to navigate at night. Possibly landscape a few pitches so they are level and hardstanding, as the site is mostly on a slope. Charge a premium for these pitches. Put up a map on the outside wall of the toilets perhaps which shows local pubs and locations for closest simple amenities (fuel, milk etc). Shower interiors could do with a fresh lick of paint and a few more hooks or a shelf in each cubicle to put your things, rather than having to place items on the wet floor. This would make it much more pleasant.

Lovely views.

We pitched next to a number of tents which were erected but unoccupied when we arrived. A short while later, three cars arrived, driven by 12 year olds across the field and around 10 adults and kids got out of each vehicle (after nearly crashing into the wall)
To say an episode of Eastenders played out directly next to our pitch was an understatement.
Their kids were constantly walking through our pitch, staring out our children and the volume from them all of them camped as a large group was unbearable. Arguments, shouting and falling out with one another.
We asked for them to stop walking through our pitch and as you can imagine this was given no consideration at all.
The owners of the site were not around to be able to speak to.
Needless to say, we packed up our stuff and drove to another site which enforced its rules a little more consideration of those who want to enjoy camping.

What a lovely site! We were only staying one night on route to an event in a nearby town, we stayed on site in our roof tent. On arrival we were met by the owner who was very pleasant. Could pitch wherever we wanted and he came to check in again later too, which was lovely. Huge field, the showers and toilets are basic but absolutely fine! Cheap and cheerful stay with amazing views!

Never been before and I wanted to pitch a large tent that i had not used for a while. Booked for one night originally but ended up staying for two. The field is has a good view across the valley which is where the sun comes up. No set space allocations as it is a large open field so you could spread out as much as you liked. Fairly quiet apart from kiddies playing on occasion as you'd expect. Washing facilities clean and adequate, free hot running showers, water for cooking and sink area to do your pots. Good value and did what is said on the tin. Good base for exploring the area and lady / owner was friendly. No entertainment or other facilities but another site was using just this to justify their price being 3 1/2 times more than this site. Depends on what you are looking for I suppose. Definitely would be "pitching up" here again!! :0)

Our first night on the road in our campervan and we were greeted by spectacular views at Hankin Farm. Warm welcome with useful, practical information. The facilities are basic, clean and more than adequate - hottest shower of the holiday! The site is on a slope which adds to the charm and we awoke to the gentle sounds of the farm and surrounding countryside.

Quiet site with lovely views, run by welcoming people. Had a very relaxing night, camping next to a small stream. Fire pits are available which always adds to the enjoyment. The facilities are relatively basic, but well maintained and clean.

Really enjoyed our stay! Lovely site with clean and well stocked facilities. Even though it was busy, it’s big enough that you still have plenty of space and we loved being able to pitch up anywhere rather than having set pitches. Everyone was respectful of the quiet times too so it was nice and peaceful at night. Owner was really welcoming and friendly, and the location was great! Genuinely can’t fault a thing and would 100% visit again.

Great location for Matlock bath, Lumsdale Valley & Bakewell. The site is fairly small, it’s tucked away from main roads and feels very secure. The facilities were always clean and regularly restocked with loo roll. Electric shower was great, perfect pressure & temperature. Delicious, cool drinking water! We enjoyed seeing the horses and cows. I had good 4g signal. It’s the first time I have gone camping without my partner and I brought my daughters (4&14) and a friend (14) and we felt really safe as an all female group. It was great that we could pitch 2 smaller tents without additional costs that would have pushed our trip out of my budget. Great value. 100/10 would definitely recommend and I will return one day !
