Enjoyed our first family camping trip. Chose this site for our first trip to test the waters and see if we like it. We quickly found that the hosts were extremely helpful and answered the phone and came to see us regarding a query. Which is great to see.
After this trip we have decided that we, as a family enjoy camping. And plan to do much much more.

Not really a dislike, as we knew what was at the camp site when we booked. But the place does warrant room for a park of some sort for kids.
However, we are a family who enjoys walks with the dog, and this location offers amazing walks along the river Trent.

Clean, hot showers.
Good communication
Close to National watersport centre
It was great.

Lovely setting, in the end we barely left the site as it was such a lovely rural environment, with great views and visits from the local animals.
A lovely pub next door with lots of outdoor tables and a kids play area, but worth booking if you want to eat
Electric car charging point in the pub car park
Dogs and BBQs allowed
Not far to travel if you need more supplies
Welcoming hosts but they they are not on top of you and leave you to get on with your holiday
Toilets and showers were cleaned regularly
They were very happy to accommodating 4 family's on pitchs next to each other.

I've only given 3 stars for Wi-Fi as we didn't use it so I'm not sure how it was, we barely touched our phone etc.

Could do with more hooks in the women's shower to hang your clothes on

Lovely quiet site with basic amenities. Friendly staff. Very close to the river - perfect for walking.

Lovely peaceful site, close to nature with cows, chickens ducks and free range guinea fowl giving the place it's own character.

Campsite was lovely and owner was lovely.

The people on the campsite was not really child friendly. A few comments were made regarding the children just doing children things. I felt like my whole camping experience was ruined trying to get my excited children to be quiet. I would recommend to a friend as I feel that it was just the people that ruined our experience.

The location of the site was really lovely, overlooking fields with cattle in. The pub is literally next door and you can have a walk along the river which is easily accessible and flat too. You are allowed gazebos, BBQs and fire pits which is great.
We got a text in the morning with instructions on re how to get in the gates and how to find our pitch which was really helpful.

A couple of things really let the site down for us though…
The toilet/shower block (women’s especially) looks like it has recently been done up and could be fabulous if it was cleaned regularly, by the end of our stay they were really filthy, no toilet roll, full of spiders and flies and generally just felt really grubby to the point anyone of our party wanted to shower there on the day we left. Such a shame because if they were cleaned at least twice a day like most sites it could be a real gem but instead that spoilt it for us. If you’re not fussed about cleanliness then it’s a great site.
Another thing that let it down for us was no freezer, we have a fridge but also rely on a cool box with ice packs but there was nowhere to refreeze them.
A rope swing in the tree in the first paddock for kids would also be great as there was very little for them to do by way of outdoor play. Not an issue but just be prepared and take lots with you.

Camping au calme, emplacement spacieux et bien plat.
Les propriétaires sont très sympa et nous ont bien dépanné pour l'électricité.

Malheureusement les sanitaires ne sont vraiment pas propres. Nous sommes restés 2 nuits, donc sur 3 jours, le ménage n'a pas été fait. Heureusement, nous étions assez peu et les gens faisaient attention de ne pas trop salir.

Lovely quiet campsite, facilities all kept clean throughout our stay. Electric to all the pitches worked great. Fantastic stay for us, will come back again.
