This site is exquisite, and we were very pleased to be back again. We were able to pitch with a view of the River Nene, Fotheringhay Castle (a mound only remains) and Fotheringhay church, which is a gem. For company we had red kites overhead. For sustenance we ate and drank at the superlative Falcon Inn, ten minutes walk away. For our personal needs the PortaLoos were spotless and well-located. For our absolute comfort, we did use levelling blocks for the campervan (first notch only).

If you are happy off-grid then this is a wonderful place to be.

Everything. The location, the views, the sheep and other campers we met..all made for a fantastic overnight stay. We were greeted on arrival by the lovely Kaz, we advised that this was our first ever campervan adventure and that we forgot to bring a pan. She was lovely enough to lend us one to cook our breakfast the following morning. We will definitely be back.

That the weekend is too short.

Loved this campsite, free to choose a spot, not marshalled but warmly welcomed by host. Facilities were clean and well signposted. The site is beautiful, I had no idea Northamptonshire is so picturesque. Views across the river, nice walks, lovely pub and even a carboot sale at the village hall. Couldn’t ask for more.

Beautiful site and incredibly relaxing, well looked after and maintained. Toilet facilities are the cleanest I’ve ever seen on a camp site. I camped at the top of the hill overlooking the river and watched the cows grazing in the field opposite. I didn’t want to leave.
If you want the wild camp experience then this is for you.

Lovely site. Warm welcome from site warden. Although basic tgat didn't matter as the views made up for this.

This was our third visit and we loved it again. The first night the field was very busy, probably full, but it was still very quiet. The second night, as it was Sunday, we were almost the only tent there, so it was brilliant. Then in the early hours of the morning there was a massive thunderstorm. Which was an experience 😂 we stayed til 3pm the following day and the tent dried out nicely. It's a beautiful site, we swam in the river and the walks surrounding the site are amazing. We'll be back again.

Lovely campsite, Very helpful pro-active warden, lots of freedom of where to pitch, clean facilities and access to wonderful historic sites, good village pub and lots of places to walk.

Unfortunately (this is no fault of the campsite) there was what sounded like a very loud fan running most of the night, I think a local farm must have been grain drying.

Everything! We had a very friendly welcome and were directed to drive around the camping field and choose our spot. So much choice as plenty of space. We settled on a spot that gave us a beautiful view of the church. As said in other reviews the portaloos are well looked after and clean. We did a beautiful walk before we had to leave the next day as we only stayed 1 night but we will be back with our family, bbqs and kayaks! A well run and looked after camping field and a beautiful part of the country ♥️

Nothing to dislike!

Enjoyed the scenery where we pitch our tent ,also pub only few mins walk ,we enjoyed our country walks from the campsite, loved swimming in the campsite River everyday ,our third year staying ,only small drive to kingclif village we enjoyed looking around and buying some off our essentials from there .
Definitely be staying at the campsite with my parner again.
