This is very much a down to earth place, so don't be expecting shower blocks, electric hook-ups, waste bins, water stations and so on. The farm is meadow and woodland that gives you a chance to immerse in yourself in your natural environment, nature. Depending on your provider you may find yourself cut off from your digital world too. I'm putting this all as positive, as that is what it is. Off-grid therapy for urban living. You may not have used a compost toilet before, but don't worry, the one on site is a wonder. With a pee and poo seperator it is almost odour free, so you can thoroughly enjoy yourself in the horse box throne room. There is a shower, flush loo and sink in a converted shed by the farm house - all very good - but there is a brick floor so again while its all very clean and tidy, be prepared not to expect dust free shiny modernity. There is plenty of space on the site for everyone, and pressure wasn't too great on the limited services as the numbers seemed well managed.

If there was one concern I had it is the absence of any fire precautions. The meadow is left to grow, which is wonderful for biodiversity and mindfulness, but we do have to be careful of the risk of grass fires which in our drier summers are sadly proving and increasing problem.

Arriving at the campsite was amazing! The views are unbelievable! We were then shown to our pitch by one of the owners. And lovley pitch size. Plenty of room and far enough away from others. Great little site to be at. Will be coming again

Jeremy was a great camping host!
We arrived late & weary. He was very helpful on arrival & during our stay. Came around each day to check all was on & a minefield of information.
The location is perfect for many walks & places of interest.
We loved the simplicity of the site & it’s ethos.
Everything was clean, tidy, well thought/laid out & no wifi.
Naturally level pitches with all you need close to hand.
Don’t go if you want electric mod cons…it’s what is says on the tin…eco camping, as camping should be.

Site owners were very visible and attentive.
Toilets and the site were very clean although limited numbers, so be prepared to queue!
Very limited phone network reception.
Open spaces, plenty of room, flat spaces for campervans and tents on the bottom fields.

No drinking water on-site - owners say to kids "need to ask permission from parents to drink the water" how do we know if it's suitable or not, you own the site. Not enough toilets - 2 composting toilets for potentially 200 people.......

Lacking both of these are ridiculous in this day and age, it's not asking much but shouldn't be allowed a commercial campsite without these basics. Just these simple additions would make it a great place to stay.

£1 for a quick shower

Motorbike revving engines in the morning but not moving, just sitting in the site revving engines but the owners do nothing.

Car drivers not observing the site speed limits but owners just watched and didn't challenge them.

Very friendly, welcoming owners. Helpful advice for walk & eating.
