Dog friendly, good size level pitches, ok facilities.

Facilities not cleaned daily, however, they were not overly dirty so not a massive issue. Banging from 8am (is a working livery and quiet time from 10pm - 8am but still woke us up)

Really disappointed that the pitches on both sides of us wouldn't control their dogs and keep them on a lead. We travelled with Cats, so we were unable to relax as dogs kept intruding our space and scaring the cats!! I am sure if we reported it would have been dealt with, but then leaves us in an uncomfortable situation. We shouldn't have to.

Two toilets in portacabin type building. One shower room with nice hot shower basin and toilet. Another shower with just shower in and a single toilet with basin. Adequate for our stay but if full I imagine it wouldn’t be enough. 1 washing up sink.

There was no contact with anyone running the site. A helllo is everything ok would have been nice once even in our 4 night stay. We were there over august bank holiday the facilities were not cleaned at all on the Sunday or Monday and didn’t get cleaned on the Saturday until mid afternoon. By time we left Tuesday morning none of the toilets had any tissue paper in them. The site is dog friendly but there is no where to walk them unless you venture out into the road with no pedestrian pavement and some parts are national speed limit. Cars were passing us very fast. Once you have done the road for approximately 10 mins there is a large open land you can walk them but we had to ask a local as would never have found it. Maybe a map or instructions how to find these areas would be an idea. Shop and pub was a mile away and shop well stocked but again you had to walk the very fast road.

Wonderful site. Quiet, clean, flat pitches with good amenities and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Plenty to do within a half-hour drive so serves as an excellent base.
The price is competitive and cancellation is a possibility if the weather turns which only forfeits the deposit.
There's also a couple of lovely pubs within walking distance (up to 30 minutes)and one of which is dog friendly.

Didn't see anyone who runs it throughout the long weekend (although I spoke to Kate a few times on the phone), the interaction is based on trust which I thought refreshing. No one checking on your pitch, no interference, everyone treated like adults.

No families while we were there but I expect the site maybe too serene for most children.

I'd definitely come back.

Such a nice little site, flat pitches, plenty of parking, showers etc very clean and lovely and hot, beautiful setting. Hosts were super helpful answering questions.

The only issue, which was not the fault of the site was that there was live music at the pub a mile or so away and the sound travelled easily in the quiet countryside, just popped in some ear plugs and went back to sleep easily!

Hi. The campsite was very nice and quiet , nice walks around. 2 pubs are within walking distance 20-30 min. Toilet facilities were good. We will be happy to come back there again

Firstly ,I was taking some work colleagues on their first camp so I wanted it to be extra chilled and enjoyable. Unfortunately the weather forecast was terrible for the weekend we were due to travel, I asked if we could change to the following weekend and were told it was not a problem. Happy days !
We arrived to very well maintained site, toilets & showers were lovely and clean. It's a very relaxing small site with beautiful horses & views.
Would I return? Yes I would

I would say the shop is further than a mile away .
I would like to see an information leaflet maybe left in the shower room or washing up area with local information and maps

Clean and tidy shower/bathroom facilities, there is an area to wash up which is great if you are taking a tent (one less thing to pack) this is separate but part of the same building. I have never found the building cold which is nice if you need to use the bathroom later at night.
There is an area you could use as a dressing table, it has a mirror, plugs and seat so you can do your hair up nicely and makeup if you are going out somewhere without taking away the capacity for toilets and showers.
Morrisons + retail park is just down the road so easy to get your last min essentials, there is also takeaways if you really don’t fancy cooking in the town.
There is a convenience store and a few pubs down a footpath if you want have a few and not have to worry about diving. Also food around the area is amazing, not cheep but you get really good position sizes and tastes amazing.
Water point is in the middle of the site so not far from most pitches, and there is a picnic table (large 8 people size) if you would like to use it.
The pitches are good size and well laid out. We had electrical pitch which you you get a gravel area to park the car or car + caravan (as our friends do) then the rest for your awning. Or in our case a parking space and then a good sized pitch for our tent.
Would highly recommend pitching up facing away from the quiet road that way you can sit with a drink of your choice and watch the sun go down.
3rd time staying here due to annual dog shows at 3 counties. Never had any issues, and Kate has always been fast at responding to us if needed. Our friends booked last year and came back again this year, they used to say at a caravan and camping site, our loved how small the size was and less busy so booked it this time round! We regularly recommend the site to people who are looking for somewhere.

This is no fault of the campsite, more the phone companies and the first time we stayed it caught us out a little: I had little internet on site (O2), but has signal to call and text, my partner on EE had good enough connection to steam a few things. So this time we made sure we had downloaded a few things in advance.

The size of the camp site and the setting was perfect! Surrounded by beautiful views and blissfully peaceful. The toilet and shower facilities were excellent and always clean and well stocked. Excellent location for exploring areas of outstanding beauty and historic sites. Great sized pitches that were level and you can park right next to your tent.
