Cost of electric is extortionate. Do not go if you're not prepared to put £10 electric on every single day. We only had a small TV, caravan kettle and caravan toaster in use, the heating was put on in morning and night and it took £10 every single day, I don't put anywhere near that amount on for a 3 bed semi at home!!!!!! The electric will turn off as soon as it runs out too no matter what time of day it is, ours went at 7am which with 2 small children trying to keep warm first thing in a morning is ridiculous, another person's went off at 10pm with no one on site to sort so they had to ring the owners who came down and put it on. We stayed here in summer and only paid £2 for electric and we have the exact same things running in the caravan. We ended up cutting our holiday short as I was not prepared to put any more electric on after already forking out £25 in electric for just 2 full days :o . When I spoke to the owners about this I was met with " well all other sites are doing it increasing their prices" like that made it ok!!! People are leaving their heatings on all night so there putting up electric prices, well we wasn't leaving our on, we turned it off at night, I switched my electric caravan kettle for my gas hob one to conserve electric and it still went at £10 daily, why should I have to pay extortionate electric prices to make up for other people using heating all night when I was trying to conserve my electric. Not right at all.....
They want £45 before you've even stepped foot through the gate which they don't tell you about. £20 for key fob (refundable once returned) and £25 for electric.
The caravan site itself is lovely and clean, would be nice if they showed the same amount of cleanliness in the small grubby place you have to empty your toilet, no hot water to wash you hands and you feel like you need a shower coming out of there. Worst one I've been too so far and completely let's the site down.
In all honesty I feel completely ripped off and I will not be visiting again, paid nearly £200 for 4 nights but cut it short as could not keep up with the electric and it is soo not worth it.
We ordered pizza and chips from the restaurant too as last summer when we eat inside the restaurant it was amazing. So I don't know what happened or whether it was because it was a take out but it was floating in grease, it felt like I'd drunk a full bottle of sunflower oil 🤢, and the pizza was just slop. So if you are going to the restaurant I would advise you eat in rather than take out as they seem to take wayyyyy more pride in their food with diners eating in.

The barman was very helpful and sorted out a gate key for me so I could get in after he had gone home, as one hadn't been issued.
Good location for me as I was travelling up the M6 and just wanted a one night stop

They stopped serving food at 7 pm, so I had to go back to Garstang to find something to eat, 7 seems very early.
They didn't have any electricity free pitches ( I had a tent) so had to pay for electricity I didn't use

Been 4 times this year fantastic site, Friendly and helpful staff would recommend to family and friends.

Didn't like how crammed in all the touring caravans were. Most pitches had 2 cars staying which made getting our caravan out when leaving very difficult

Location on plot number 5 it rained heavily therefore divertimento you got out of the motorhome you got very wet during to ghd site being on a slope it didn't help that a water company let tons of water loose and ends up on the pitch so the dog got wet every time you left the motorhome. No pub open on a Monday so your stuck in the motorhome being bored alone while the weather rained down. I left after one day because of the situation even though I paid in advance for 3 days which was a pity as it is a lovely place.

Second visit to this site with friends. Love it here. Gorgeous setting- lots of lovely flowers and greenery. Toilet and shower block lovely and clean. Went to the pub on the Saturday and had an amazing meal reasonably priced and then there was karaoke which was fun. Great atmosphere. Got bus to Lancaster - stop just across the road from site entrance.

Toilet block quite far away from the tent pitches. Road noise quite load at night but ok with ear plugs in!!!

The toilet facilities were clean and plenty available for everyone.
The Stepping Stones pub had a good variety of food and drink and a lovely setting on the river.
The other campsite residents were really friendly and the receptionist was very helpful, as the gentleman who helped get our electric working with an extension lead.
The overall site was lovely and we really enjoyed our stay there. There were cute ducks ans ducklings wandering around, nearby drinking water, lovely views and staff.

The motorway and it was a bit of a trek to the loos, but that is to be expected when camping.
I was slightly concerned about over-fishing on the little site ponds and there were two lads with a gasping fish trying to get a hook out of its stomach as the fish who had swallowed it. I didn’t see an adult with them, and it was a quite upsetting for my son.
Are the fish are replaced/restocked regularly as it seemed a small pond for the five fishermen at it, and we were concerned the same fish might keep getting pulled out. But I know very little about fishing so it is just an ill-informed concern.
