Love this campsite; it’s a perfect base to explore the surrounding area. The facilities are always clean and in perfect working order. Would recommend this site.

Parking near tent

Staff service from (I am presuming) the owner and attitude was abysmal, it had me lost for words the way she spoke down to us and assumed I was going to create a fire in our tent as she walked over asking what i am doing in my own tent, to which I responded making our children’s breakfast. From that she rudely stated I was going to start a fire, which would be impossible from pouring milk and cereal, not cooking with flames which she assumed from the word ‘breakfast’. She abruptly continued to say they were going out for the day, stating ‘so I need your payment right now’ demanding very rudely instead of asking politely/professionally, because they left us a note on the door on arrival stating they were out and to just pitch up. There was no other note regarding how to pay or to go back later or how long they would be out for. We presumed we would have to pay on check out as we never saw anyone since then going in or out of the house/‘reception’. However when she stormed over to our tent on the last morning accusing me of starting a fire from the imaginary flames, she stated ‘we were only out for a couple of hours you should have just known to come back then’
Forgive me for not reading minds without instructions but we were intending on paying on checkout as we had no option but assume this with the lack of customer service and guidance. We had no welcome email with info and weren’t greeted on arrival, only one note stating ‘Danielle L - 18A we are out, please pitch up’ and nothing else.
Showers are payable which isn’t stated on the website and the toilets/showers/washing up area was never cleaned once while we were there and looked like it had never been cleaned. Dirty sinks, rubbish and toilet paper every where and unflushed stools in every single toilet. We have stayed at other campsites where facilities were cleaned daily, however when paying for our shower that is supposed to make us feel clean it made us feel more dirty with muddy, grimy, insect-ridden and cobweb-ridden floors/walls.
Owners dogs were barking and howling all night/morning setting off the campers’ dogs, don’t expect to get a good nights sleep.

Lovely small campsite. The electric pitches where on a smaller field which we liked as we are quite a reserved family. The facilities where always clean and the campsite as a whole is really well kept. Situated near a quite little village, not far from walking trails or the coast.

After paying almost £100 for 3 nights I think having to pay to get a shower was ridiculous. The was some kind of garage at the back of the electric pitches, made it hard to relax and sometimes even struggled to hear each other talk with the drilling and hammering. There is a hunt kennels not far from the campsite so howling and barking kept us up most of the night, every night. Unfortunately we wouldn’t stop here again due to this.

Easy check in. Spacious pitches. Plenty of water points so always one near by. Clean toilets and two good, spacious showers (20p coin for 3 mins). Good food in the village 5 min walk away - pub and Indian

The location was excellent, 3 miles from Helmsley with all its attractions and 3 miles from Kirby Moorside. 5 minutes walk to local pub which served food to eat in or take away. Lots of good walks from the site.
The two fields were level and well maintained. The toilet and shower facilities were very clean.
Check in was quick , friendly and efficient .

This was a lovely location with sufficient amenities to provide everything we needed. The village was within walking distance and there were walks available to do on the doorstep. In addition Helmsley was only 3 miles away. The owner was lovely and very helpful.

The area was beautiful,The lady that welcomed us was so lovely and friendly and very helpful.

Very quiet site. Toilets were clean on arrival but soon ended up filthy as the evening went on. Washing up area was okay. We didn’t use the showers as have our own.
