Great campsite for being in the woods and surrounded by nature, similar to wild camping but with the luxury of toilets and showers. Facilities really nice.

You don't get any phone signal but this is also quiet nice to have some quiet from technology.

Me and my brother came to Cefn Coed this September 22nd-25th for a little biking break. I can honestly say it is the most beautiful campsite I’ve ever been to. The views and location were stunning. The owners Adrian and Natalie were so welcoming and they couldn’t have been more helpful. Adrian was just a book of knowledge of the surrounding areas and Natalie showed us some really nice walks. Their brilliant hospitality was effortless. We stayed in the estuary which was a stones throw from a beautiful crystal clear shallow river going into the estuary. There are so many good biking trails and all of the camping plots are very secluded from each other. The camp site has great shower and wash up facilities and the toilets are well looked after. There is also a shop onsite that sells a good amount of essentials. We even went to the shop one evening and it was closed so we just phoned the office and within a couple mins Adrian came over to open so we could get what we needed.
There is fresh mountain water on tap to drink and it’s so refreshing. I can’t wait to come back next year for another long weekend here. I can honestly say that this is the place to go whether it’s an adventure fueled holiday you are after or just a relaxing one.
They even have Wi-Fi at the reception area which was nice.
There is also an option to have food cooked for you on site they do Thai food we didn’t have it this time round but we will definitely be eating there next time. We heard the pad Thai is amazing btw :)
The town of Dolgellau is a 15 min bike ride away and is a really nice picturesque town.

Absolutely wonderful campsite with great facilities (although you may have to walk a little uphill to get there). We loved our time at Cefn Coed. Stunning views of the mountains and lots of pitch space. Great forest walks and beautiful estuary walk with a pub within walking distance. Near beaches. The site itself has a real eco feel and the facilities were good. There is also a little shop. Wifi access near the facilities.

Not really a dislike for us but for some it might feel like a bit of a hike to get up the hill to the facilities. Plus we had to take our rubbish away with us.

Lovely quiet site. Pitches in the woods are well spread out and reasonably private. Site owners are friendly and helpful. They also cook a Thai menu you can order from. Facilities were all clean. As a solo traveller this site was perfect.

Adrian was very accommodating, the tai food was incredible. Area we stayed was quiet and with beautiful views. Toilets and showers were nicely kept. All in all brilliant place to stay and will be back!!

This site has some beautiful pitches in the oak woodland which open out onto the river estuary. As close as you can get to wild camping with the convenience of campsite amenities.

Would be nice if fire pits were included in the price or dropped off at the pitch if they’re pre booked.

Loved camping under the trees and hearing the owls at night! The Thai food was unsurpassable and the fire pit was the cherry on the cake. Just the right amount of luxury and outdoors adventure all in one space. Hosts very kind and friendly, giving helpful tips for our planned activities. Definitely coming back.

the owners adrian and natalie were friendly and welcoming from the get go, which put us at ease right away!

we were able to choose the pitch we wanted, we went with 'fallen oak'. we weren't close to any other campers, and it felt very private for us, not to mention pretty. a 30 second walk from our pitch took us to an opening in the forest where we could see lots of horses, and a lovely view of cader idris. breathtaking!

the estuary is only a few minutes down the trail, my partner and i took our paddleboards out for a while and the scenery from the water was amazing

natalie cooked us meals, and went above and beyond to ensure they were suitable for us (vegan). we had the red curry and the pad thai which were delicious

the george III pub is about half an hour's walk away from the site, it's welcoming and very picturesque

the facilities are well maintained and nice and clean

overall, we'd definitely recommend staying at cefn coed! it was the peaceful break we needed, and we hope to be back by the end of the year when the weather has cooled down a little
