This campsite has everything you need. It is in a beautiful location, which is easily accessed from Leeds and surrounding areas. There is a well stocked shop, a friendly reception team, pristine toilets and showers and a lovely coffee shop that doubles as a wood fired pizza shop in the evening. The field for non-electric hookups is a little undulating but there are plenty of places to get a good flat pitch. They also have a 24-warden on site should you have any issues or problems. This is the perfect site for a last minute getaway in one of the most easily accessed, yet beautiful parts of the Dales.

If you stay on the electric hookup field the pitches are flatter, with more space between tents and you can park next to your pitch. This is a better setup than the non-electric side where tents set up, before moving your car to a car park. It’s a small thing and I’m assuming it’s primarily for safety reasons to prevent a car accidentally rolling down the hill. Fair enough. However, next time I’ll probably book an electric pitch for the added convenience/space. This probably says more about me than this lovely campsite though.

Really lovely campsite. The views alone are worth the stay.
Very very clean and the site offers everything you could need during your stay.
My son loved the swing across the river/stream so much he has insisted we return.
Within walking distance of Bolton Abbey which is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.
Billy Bobs diner is a must visit if you have young kids.

Our pitch was on a hill which meant we were constantly trying to level up our equipment but that wasn’t enough of an issue to spoil the holiday.
No Wi-Fi that we were advised about hence I only gave one star for that, but we don’t expect Wi-Fi on a camp site in any event.

The views, the facilities, the local walks and sights.

Nothing to dislike.

Facilities available allowed us to be comfortable for our stay. Ability to choose pitching. Multiple facilities dotted around site. Access to Bolton Abbey. Being located around farm animals. Washing up facilities and access to fridges and freezers. Range of environments to choose from for pitch.

Not being able to park car up next to tent. We only brought a 2 person pop up tent so was squashed in with our belongings. Spiders and insects in toilets that look like they’ve been there awhile! Drone flying over head in morning.

Lovely location, had a nice and relaxing weekend would definitely stay again

No park for the kids is the only thing that let's it down

Location

We booked a large site without electric. The site is located on the side of a hill with most pitches on a slope, not terraced. pitches not marked out apart from those with electrics. We had booked a large grass no electrics pitch. We were told to just select a vacant pitch and park up so we expected to be able to identify a large vacant pitch with ease. Wrong ! The pitches were not marked out and we only found one space that could we could identify as being capable of taking our vw campervan but this had a very large hole in ground right in the centre. After returning to the office we were told to just park in the middle of the field with the units using electrics. When we asked why offer standard or large pitches when clearly that wasn’t available we were told they should update the offerings and listings on the website. Later we discovered there was no formal chemical toilet /rinsing facility in fact you had to lift a grate which was surrounded by toilet waste, we decided to leave that alone. That said the shop, cafe were busy … we decided to move on .

Superb campsite. Well appointed with superb facilities.
Toilets and showers are lovely, clean and modern. Washing up area, and the on site shop etc all make it perfect for camping

This isn’t really the campsites fault but on the first night there there was a disturbance and some (I’ll assume they were drunk) people started arguing at 2am, and not just arguing, but screaming at each other, then it happened again an hour later (assuming it was the same group!!)

Again not the fault of the camp site and I believe police were called and it was handled appropriately, but was not pleasant being woken up to that at 2-3am

No other dislikes at all. It’s a brilliant place

Well situated site in beautiful countryside not far from Bolton Abbey. Excellent facilities and friendly staff. The site has a hut serving pizza in the evenings and croissants and tea/coffe in the morning. Fire pits are avaliable to hire and the shop is well stocked. There are cleaning facilities for muddy hiking boots and dogs.

The site is very relaxed. Not too many rules (I hate passive aggressive laminated signs on a site) yet all campers were respectful of the peace and the site itself.
