Location and clean toilets

Too many campers booked in to the field/ I was surrounded by a group of young lads with a car and one man tent each who arrived late and made noises through the night setting up/ it was so crowded I struggled to get my small campervan out and left a day early. A far cry from the notion of ‘wild camping’.

Lack of hygiene facilities. 5 toilets which were never busy which is a bonus. One toilet block of 4 with 3 sinks and 1 external shower and another smaller shower and toilet cabin. The owner did come round a few times a day to clean but they were always filthy. Toilet block even had a birds nest inside. For the size of the sight there definitely needs to be more showers. We never managed to get a shower during our 3 night stay, even getting up at 4am as it was always busy and when they were free the water was ice cold and the floor was filthy. The type of shower were you feel cleaner before you get in. The sight is also very sloped, thankfully we got there early and got a flat section at the top. We also found out the sight fee was actually £10a night but we paid £20per night through pitch up. £10 is possibly worth the price for the lack of facilities, but £20 a night is more like daylight robbery. Having said this, we went to see the cows every night and they were very friendly and loved strokes, highly recommend 😂.

Great location with brilliant view, lots of space between other campers which was nice. Toilets were pretty clean and shower had hot water, good value for the price. Nice little pub 5 min drive away with great food.

The facilities, which were well maintained. The lady running the operation, Anna, was pleasant.
Our pitch was good and level.

£51 for four days of camping is expensive, but I accept we were there at peak time; August bank holiday weekend.

We stayed in the overflow camping so there was lots of space

Ground had not been mowed. The facilities were quite poor in the overflow area (and basic on the other site). Just two toilets in a ramshackle shed and a pipe for water, no hand washing sink - not particularly clean.

Peaceful camp site & toilet blocks & shower cleaned twice daily. Annie was helpful & friendly.

No dislikes really, but just one thing...it would of been better to of had another shower facility as there was only 1 shower, but that's all.

Great location and scenic views. On the weekdays it was very quiet.

Excellent, peaceful site. Toilets and showers good, kept clean throughout the day. Public transport links at the end of the road, short walk to a lovely pub and some lovely walks from the site

Nice simple field with views.
Good clean toilets and showers.
Great location for exploring on foot or bike. Easy to access the Pennine Bridleway, High Peak and Tissington trails.

No shelter so could live up to it's 'wild' name in poor weather (not an issue for my stay).
