No wifi but that was absolute bonus as had complete break & fabulous gadget free weekend

The road was busier than expected

Nice small campsite with excellent facilities. Pub just round the corner that serves excellent food and beverages. Welcoming host who makes superb pizza’s.

We liked everything while staying at the lodge. The fire is amazing and you have a bag of wood provided for free. There is essentials provided like tea, coffee, sugar, shower gel etc. this is great in case you forget anything.
The owner is lovely and friendly also makes an amazing pizza. We couldn't fault anything, even the weather didn't stop us from exploring the beautiful scenery around the location. We will definitely be back

Nothing to dislike!

The small size of the campsite and location - a lovely old village surrounded by stunning scenery. A wonderful old village with a lovely pub a short walk from the campsite which was very reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and the barmaid pointed out the stack of games to my granddaughter to see if she wanted to play with anything (from dominoes, quiz books and board games). There was a small fire burning in the pub which filled the village with a lovely aroma 😊 Adjacent to the campsite is Cecilia's Pizzaria and the pizzas were beautiful! Ordering in advance was easy to do and pick up was very swift with contactless payment - the pizzas were ready when we walked in! I don't normally like eating pizzas but the margherita was gorgeous (something my granddaughter agrees with!).
The facilities were very good on site - a small toilet and shower block, a sink for washing up, tap for your water and all the water was drinking water. The refuse facilities were brilliant - separate areas for cooking fat, recycling, general water and a bonfire area to put your used pizzas boxes onto!
We also loved the surrounding wildlife from the sheep on the hills in the distance, the sound of the owls in the trees surrounding the field, blackbirds digging for worms and the highlight - lots of Martins swooping all over the field catching bugs!
There was no phone signal at the site which was nice to get away from everything for a bit.

The weather 😂 we had good old Yorkshire weather - passing showers during the day and then heavy rain and winds through the night. Thankfully the tent made it through the night!
Apart from that we couldn't fault a thing with our stay!

Beautiful scenery, great location if you like being away from things. Small campsite, only a few pitches so lovely and quiet. Great bathroom/shower. Honestly I could go on! Its a perfect spot for me.

Beautiful, idyllic campsite in a pretty village. The on-site facilities where very well maintained, and the toilet and shower units kept immaculately clean. The village pub serves good ale and very tasty food, and are very dog (and people) friendly. We sadly didn't get a chance to try Cecelia's Pizzeria, but our camp neighbours stated their's was delicious, and judging by the speed they were selling them, I am sure this was correct! The hostess swiftly dealt with a small issue regarding the toilet, and was very pleasant. All in all a campsite we would not hesitate to recommend and hope to return to in the future.

Quiet site, nice scenery. Amazing pizza from the pizzeria. Very clean toilet, shower and washing up facilities. Soap, paper towels, washing up liquid and sponges all provided. Plugs for charging your devices. Really enjoyed staying here, thank you
