Loved the site, extremely peaceful, partly due to the weather but mainly because we were the only campers so had the whole field to ourselves.

The host was great, gave us a quick tour then walked us to our electric pitch then left us to it.

The toilets and shower were spotlessly clean and the shower was hot and powerful which was unexpected.

The area is beautiful, as is the site. We'll definitely book again!

The peace and quiet of this site. Nice, basic but clean facilities (amazing power shower) and friendly owner, Tim. Lots of space to pitch up.

People from the caravan field or cottages exercising their dogs off the lead in the tent field and not picking up after them. I’m a dog lover and previous owner of several dogs so I’m not anti dog…just anti irresponsible dog owners.

Lovely peaceful basic site. Tim is a very welcoming owner and showed us round.
There are 2 clean toilets (bring your own loo paper) and a super power shower, which I loved. Plenty of hooks for your towel and clothes.
Cold water tap, recycling bins and a chemical disposal.
The cows woke us each morning and also gathered to ‘wave us off’…see photo, and gorgeous birdsong by the local community bird choir! We also had a visit from a farm cat, who was watching us as we were setting up. We loved our long weekend away and have already booked to stay again.

Nothing

A calm and beautiful place, with amazing gardens, the place was very calm, exactly what you need for a relaxing get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Tim was brilliant, very hospitable and accommodating, the toilet facilities were very clean , shower brilliant, water was in plenty but had a good walk to source it, that is the only comment I would say that was slightly inconvenient but all else was perfect.

I was searching for a site where I could have my car next to the tent, and just be able to do my own thing. That’s exactly what I got! Had shaded or not shaded areas, nice flat grass, toilets and shower. Very nice host, quite and peaceful site.

Nothing to dislike

Easy to find just of A41 directions were great. The welcome was really warm and the site rules were explain in a friendly manner. He explained that the toilets had no toilet paper or soap as it was being stolen. He guided us to our site and explained that the lawn mowers worked at night my dog loved it. There are plenty of walks and things to visit in the area around 10 mins drive away local pubs are very welcoming. There are two castles walk In the area to.

None 1 could do with a sign please clean after use in toilet and shower area.

Lovely quite location, welcoming host, helpfull with all we needed to know.
Camping field very good, flat with plenty of space.

Not so much dislikes, but we thought the toilets and washing facilities could have been given a bit more thought, although they were clean they were not of a very good standard, doors difficult to open and close, lack of hooks and a mirror would have been good to have a shave by or ladies to do there hair.
I also think that £15 a night extra for electric is a bit excessive, had i noticed this when booking i would not of had electric or gone elsewhere.

Beautiful grounds, scenery was truly stunning and Tim could not be more helpful. There are motor home pitches here aswell as camping pitches with both electric and non electric hook ups. Perfectly flat ground to pitch on which was great. Coded entry in and out of the site allowing for safety and unwanted guests.

No signs to point you in the direction of the toilet or shower facilities. Having arrived back at the camp when it was dark i was wondering around for a good 15 minutes looking for them. I had no idea that they were situated within 3 individual 6x4 sheds, which came as a bit of a surprise as everywhere else i have been had properly erected toilet/shower blocks. THERE ARE ONLY 2 TOILET SHEDS AND 1 SHOWER SHED which made it quite difficult to manage as other campers were all wanting showers first thing in a morning. The shower shed had no light {not one that you could turn on in the daytime anyway} not sure if it is on a timer? so when the door closes you're standing in the dark, had to prop my phone up with the torch turned on to see! Could not get dressed within the shower shed as there was no room either so had to walk back to the tent in my long hoodie. There are also NO WASHING UP FACILITIES HERE, which again i was surprised with. I did enquire but was told they didnt have any. Soooo washing pots and pans at the side of the tent with kettle boiled water wasnt the most ideal situation. I do feel like in my own opinion that the camping side of the business has a long way to go before it can compete with others in the area, with the lack of facilities i would guess that other families would struggle a great deal more and would probably opt to stay somewhere else. The reason i chose this site was because of the 5 star reviews, however in hindsight i beleive these are for the accomodation within the main house itself and the cottages that can be rented onsite. If you dont want to wait to have a shower in a shed and need washing up facilities this place is not for you. Such a shame as it is a beautiful piece of land but unless the facilities needed are added i wont be returning anytime soon. I paid £90 for 3 nights with ehu and was quite surprised after talking to some of the regular motor home pitch guests to find that i was actually paying more than they were? Apparently they pay £20 per night with ehu? Ended up packing up a day early as i just wanted to enjoy a decent shower. :(
