The pitch location, the shower block (excellent) and the peace and quiet. Easy to find. Well signposted.

The potholes (were being addressed as we were leaving) and the weather (nothing to do with the park!)

Everything here is wonderfull, from friendly owner to spotless clean toilet/shower block.

Everything owner was very helpful phoned me the night before to say some of the pitches were water logged gave us a great pitch all in all great site

Terrible pitches which need re covering or re building, too narrow, they were like mud baths, they looked 20 years old.
We paid a premium price of £45 per night which was certainly overpriced.

The shower/ toilet facility very clean.

We originally booked for 3 nights Fri sat sun, but had to leave on the Sat as we were very disappointed with the state of the hardstanding pitches. Basically the hardstanding pitches are not well maintained nor are they wide enough to accommodate a decent path around the van when it is parked. We were straight onto the waterlogged grass and into boggy mud from the van doors. I understand the weather conditions and if we had been informed the site was waterlogged, the decision to stay would have been ours . However the price for this poor standard of a hardstanding pitch is very poor value . I have never stayed on a hardstanding pitch which had no reasonable area to also walk round the van.
This site is receptionless and the owners tel no is the only contact available. which states it is for emergency or problems. I initially contacted him on the day we were leaving , but I am still waiting for a response from him, he has not had the courtesy to respond to my issue.

The toilet block/shower room was spotless ,never.Been in a better place
the views was excellant and great to wake up with the birds whistling
only down fall was the mud because the site was very very wet you had trouble walking around your motorhome ??
but all in all a great short break for us and will be back in the summer thanks again mr &mrs s raspin

Peaceful adults only site

Booked for 6 nights over Easter on hardstanding, fully serviced pitch, £42 pn! (Booked through pitch up so they obviously add their fee!)

Hardstanding pitch with grassed area alongside. Site was a mud bath after much heavy rain. Hardstanding was long and narrow and overgrown with grass and moss making it boggy and no option but to walk on this to get into the van. This led to wet and muddy floor inside with wet footwear and paw prints (in spite of entrance mats which became wet very quickly!) The pitch was waterlogged with deep ruts in the ground where previous unit had driven over the grassed area. There was a tap between pitches serving two units, each with own outflow and control. Unfortunately my water hose didn’t quite reach so had to fill manually with Jerry can so minus points for that as I expected the supply to be on my unit pitch for that price! A fully serviced pitch should be just that!
There was a very small drain under the tap which I guess is the grey waste as no evidence of anywhere else to dispose of same. (Explained perhaps the deep ruts where previous campers had driven over grass!) There is a great chemical waste closet behind the toilet/ shower block with water to rinse cassette so that gets a + and the toilet and shower facilities are good. Underfloor heating so lovely and warm, male and female served at opposite ends with three toilets and three showers (including a family sized one) in each plus a large disabled room too. Plenty of hot water on 20second push button cycle. Only downside - toilets not cleaned nor toilet paper dispensers refilled in lady’s loos so only disabled loo had paper in which was used by able bodied and so ran out too! For £42 per night I expect more!
Views over open countryside from each pitch but lots of tree work been done recently so what was obviously once a lovely woodland to look at is now a mess of felled trees and mud ruts. I’m sure this is good woodland management and the land will recover in time but it was a mess! On the plus side though, site owner is planting up lots of saplings and shrubs around the site so I’m sure it will be lovely in time to come.
There is a path from the site that takes you directly to the Lancashire foot and cycle path with walks in either direction and lovely views over the Lune estuary to Glasson Dock one way and Lancaster the other. Visit the Dalton Arms in Glasson for lovely Steak & Ale pie! Lush!
Overall I was disappointed with this site as not quite as advertised in terms of facilities on pitch and general state of it but not a lot the owner can do about the weather and I’m sure once things have dried out it will be much nicer. However, I’m not sure I would return given the price per night for what is really only a basic but larger CL type site.
