Poor value

(Family with young children, 1 review)   Confirmed

  • Date stayed: Apr 2014

  • Liked: The parks proximity to open countryside walks and superb nature reserve.Toilet/shower block good.
  • Disliked: No level dry play area for children, all grassed areas were waterlogged.Impossible to actually have a "swim" in the pool because always utterly overcrowded. Most activities incur a substantial charge and were very poor value for money.Eg.a five minute use of a water walker costing £6.00 and also very overpriced was the showbar bar, with a poor selection and London prices.

Nice site but no adult only time

(Mature couple, 1 review)   Confirmed

  • Date stayed: Jun 2013
  • Recommend to friends   Visit again
  • Liked: The layout of the site, facilities, cleanliness and friendly staff were good. The price was good too. £68 for three nights with a touring caravan.
  • Disliked: The fact there were children (some just toddlers) still running around the show bar after midnight !!! There is no 'adults only time' to enjoy the nightly entertainment or anything else on the site apart from cash bingo. We like to dance (modern jive), not just sit outside the caravan all day and go to bed early, just because you are mature doesn't mean you don't want to go out and enjoy yourself :-(

Marton Mere - A Great British Holiday

(Family with young children, 1 review)

  • Date stayed: Aug 2012
  • Recommend to friends   Visit again
  • Liked: Marton Mere is a holiday village not situated far from Blackpool (aka the Vegas of the North) so the location is stunning with the views from the colorful Blackpool Tower from our caravan! The village itself was beautiful with a large lake with lots of nature to explore including group nature trails. Picnic facilities are amazing with stunning views, the caravan itself was sparkling clean and it really couldn't be faulted for the so cheap price payed. The entertainment is brilliant as there is something for everyone. The overall facilities are endless there is a really good pool, outdoor and indoor, café, shops, amusement, kart hire (oh how we had fun both big kids and little) and also activities. It's just overall an amazing experience and really shows that a British holiday cna be just as good as those abroad!
  • Disliked: I don't like to complain because it really was great and for the price payed everything was what you could have asked for and more but there are those tiny things as with any other park. The bathroom is really small, being a tall person I literally had trouble fitting in to go to the toilet however the shower takes up much room so that's probably why. I also disliked the poolside as it was very slippery and lots of people were falling with one little girl getting really hurt, the staff just couldn't keep up with managing the water that had overflowed from the showers making quite hazardous.
