Quiet site and a good sized lodge compared to a caravan

(Family with young children, 1 review)   Confirmed

  • Date stayed: Jul 2013
  • Recommend to friends   Visit again
  • Liked: Location - five minute walk downhill to dawlish warren train station and the beach.

Quiet site and a nice layout looking out onto the central park area.

Didn't use the pool as weather was good and on the beach instead.
Summer 2014 and indoor pool complex to be ready which will be great on those not so nice days.
  • Disliked: Bumping my head on the low door heights in the lodge!
Only 6'1" but soon learnt to stoop!!

A lovely stay in a beautiful place

(Young couple, 1 review)   Confirmed

  • Date stayed: May 2013
  • Recommend to friends   Visit again
  • Liked: We was greeted with a friendly welcome and made our way to our lodge. It was very clean and well presented. It had pots/pans crockery and cutlery, everything you needed. There is a Sainsburys not for away, and it's locality in Dawlish Warren is beautiful. The amazing Dawlish is a short car or train ride away too. I would suggest taking the train which travels adjacent to the sea. The lodge had some very nice features which really helped making the experience more enjoyable. We stayed in the entry level lodge but we had a nosey at some of the others and they looked really impressive. Check out was easy and the grounds the lodge is set in are really nicely kept. There is a really nice pub, The Boathouse by the beach which is highly recommended.
  • Disliked: The sofa could do with some cushions and the foam seats were needing to be replaced. Saying that, we took the duvets off the spare beds and put it on the sofa to make it more comfortable. There was a couple of exposed nails around the doorway in the bathroom which needed attention, but in fairness i forgot to tell them about this.
From the manager...

Good afternoon,
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay, and were able to take a trip into the town, the train ride is a great way to get into town as you can sit back and take in the views out to sea. I will get our maintenance team to check out the doorways throughout the lodges to make sure there are no more nails that have shown themselves. Thank you, and we hope you will visit us again soon.

Good afternoon,
Thank you for your review. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay with us. I am sorry you were not aware that there were no towels provided, we currently do not have a service for this it is just the linen we provide - perhaps we could look into whether we could do this in the future.
We do hope you will visit us again soon.

Great Holiday - lovely Lodge in the heart of Devon

(With friends, 1 review)   Confirmed

  • Date stayed: Apr 2013
  • Recommend to friends   Visit again
  • Liked: Using Pitch up made booking really easily - we got a real bargain stay despite it being the Easter holidays. We picked the keys up, the lodge was all described, clean and a good size.

Location was really good too and brilliant pub just behind - Mount Pleasant - check out the views!

Loved visiting Devon and reminiscing about happy family holidays and my friends - who'd never been before - were impressed too.
  • Disliked: Erm - not much really. One light bulb wasn't working in the front room :) Straws...clutching at.
