  • Liked: The set up for the pitches. We didn't know that there were electric hook up points at every pitch and that we could leave at 12 noon instead of 10 a.m. which was an added bonus.
I had a fantastic holiday with my grandchildren, hubby, son and future daughter.
Plenty of water taps around ( which the children loved in the hot weather).
Can't wait to go back. So much to see and do in the area.
Kyle 5- I liked when we went to the beach and found Hermit Crabs.
Courtney 3- I liked the tent Gran-.dad and You.
    Price very reasonable for pitch.
  • Disliked: The showers got very hot. Had to be careful with the kiddies as they had no controls over temperature. Found leaving them off for a longer gap kept them cooler. Mops for puddles in shower were very worn.

  • Liked: the girl who booked us in (can't remember her name) she was friendly and helpful , a brilliant embasador for your company , we then had other dealings with her i.e. needed a gas bottle she was so helpful and nothing was to much trouble for her .
Mark you security / cleaner / and all round friendly guy, keeping us all right.
he helped with giving us advice about our tent, he was friendly to us and the kids ,,, just an all round nice guy.
the younger kids enjoyed your entertainment,,,,, but the older two cost us a fortune because they were bored ,,, typical !!
  • Disliked: the long wait to be served food in the restaurant ,,, but the food was good,,,
when changing paper notes in the machine, it gave back a quarter of all transactions with fake coins ,,, this was unacceptable

Sounds wonderful on the website - a bit less wonderful in reality

  • Liked: A) I thought it was nice being next to the beach.

    B) Kids loved the evening entertainment and activities, always stuff to do.

    C) Kids loved dancing and singing in the evening.

    D) All facilities on site were reasonably clean, although not spotless.

    E) Very helpful staff at the reception area.

    F) Food onsite was of a good standard and service was good too.

    G) Nice swimming pool.

    H) Water and electric hook ups fairly close by.

    I) A bracing holiday filled with challenges!

    J) Lots to see and do.

    K) I particularly liked getting back home!
  • Disliked: A) It was a stony beach so not so great for lounging around, had to go elsewhere for a 'sandcastle' beach.

    B) Kids were charged £1 for almost every activity, and even for games during the evening entertainment - a huge hidden cost. We must have spent approx £5 a day for kids club stuff - £35 for a week's holiday when we thought kids entertainment was free.

    C) Kids were taught a song in the kids club called 'Rice and Curry' which was actually racist - with an equally racist dance routine. Had to stop her singing it when we got home or she would have been told off at school, just not acceptable at all!

Not welcoming for anyone from an ethnic minority. Not a single coloured person there and I'm not suprised. I wouldn't have felt welcome there at all.

    D) Toilets had key coding to stop all and sundry using them, but door was constantly left open.

    E) No complaints about the staff.

    F) Food onsite was extortionately expensive, with no-where else to go as Southerness is virtually a ghost town except for the local chippy, where they do haggis which is nice!

    G) You could only go swimming during certain time slots and could only stay in for 1 1/2 hours (or maybe less, I can't quite remember).

    H) Nearest water supply didn't work, so we had to walk to another tap further away.

    I) The weather was crap, we left early and snapped a tent pole due to high winds - weather not their fault though!

    J) Don't go unless you have a car, spent quite a while travelling to locations - at least a 20-minute drive to get anywhere.

    K) I'm sorry to be so negative, the weather didn't help which wasn't their fault - but I was so mad about the charges for the kids' club, and for them teaching them that racist song.

The 'activity' area for the kids was filled with slot machines, like you get at Blackpool front, which meant on your way to the evening's entertainment, we got hassled to death to pay for penny drops too.

A nice cheap and cheerful camping holiday turned into a expensive one.

Not going back again, ever! Sorry Southerness!
