  • Liked: When we got to the site we were met by Zoe who was really great- she helped us carry our stuff from the car to the tipi (despite earlier being waist deep in a sink hole) and explained everything to us. There was also a welcome guide inside the tipi which was very thorough.

The tipi itself was enormous inside! There's a kitchen area with cooking equipment, plates and cutlery and a gas stove. There is also a camp fire outside, but it was a bit wet to use that during our stay. The tipi also had a wood burner inside which kept us toasty warm- not that we needed it as the bed had a duvet, a throw, sheepskins AND spare blankets and duvets if we needed them. The bed was VERY comfy- we both had the best night's sleep we've had in a long time.

The facilities are good; it was great having a private toilet and shower and I did brave the cold spring shower once! They also provide the shampoo and shower gel (BUAV approved, which I liked).

The area is beautiful and we felt completely isolated (I had absolutely no phone signal for two days- slightly unnerving at first!). On our first day there we spent hours just sitting outside our tipi admiring the views and chatting. I haven't felt so relaxed ever. Oh! And we saw a barn owl!

Have only been back a couple of days and am already recommending this to everyone!

  • Disliked: Walking up the hill to the Mountain Tipi. I suppose the name was a giveaway really- must get down the gym!
