Great location in an unspoilt part of Kent. Close to Scotney Castle, Sissinghurst and Tunbridge Wells. Not far from Hever Castle, Chartwell and other interesting places. Clean campsite. Excellent central block with showers and facilities. Good-sized places for campervan with electric hook-up and side tent.

No WiFi. No children.

The level grass pitches were enormous so that even when full you wouldn't feel overcrowded. The toilets and showers were immaculate and roomy. Even the wash up area was thoughtfully set up and the water was hot. I loved the fact that the site is gated and the pitches are well off the road... It makes the site peaceful and secure.

Nothing to dislike

Fantastic site. Well laid out, with nice level pitches, and the toilets & showers are as good as I've experienced on any campsite. It's gated, with electronic locks, so seems very safe. Checking in was very quick and efficient and the welcome friendly.

Other campers were all very friendly, with quite a high proportion of seasonal pitches.

Despite a couple of irritations rather than dislikes, (location & noise) I'd happily stay here again if in the area.

It's very central for the coast - Whitstable to the north, Broadstairs etc. to the east and Hastings to the south. However the site is in the middle of nowhere and the roads are narrow with a lot of cyclists/tractors etc. So a 30-40 mile trip takes an hour or so.

There is some noise into the night and early mornings from a nearby railway line, and from aircraft taking off and landing nearby. We were in a tent though, probably not as noticeable in a caravan.

The welcome was very friendly. The pitches are a very good size. We were quite close to the shower/toilet bock. The facilities are spacious and kept very clean. This is an adult only site but dog friendly. We do not have a dog, but in general, the dogs were well behaved and not as noisy as we thought they could be. It is a very quiet site and well off the beaten track. Personally, one of the highlights is the fact you may well see and hear the occasional spitfire fly by. :)
