Myself partner and smaller sister stayed for the one evening at Penhalvean Pottery Campsite, and i can honestly say that i will be staying again for a much longer duration.
On arrival you are instantly hit with the crisp green surroundings and the information for a number to call on arrival which is clear to see, you wouldn't just drive past it.
Upon calling the number shown Ed answered immediately and was very friendly. He explained he was in the field and would be right down.
Instantly Ed came and welcomed myself, with the warmest and friendliest smiles and welcomes i have ever received.
He was very thorough on choosing the right pitch for our little family and gave us a lovely sheltered pitch in it's own enclosed space.
he kindly pointed out the facilities and then left us to park up and get settled.
The space was immaculate Ed had mentioned some previous guests had left a little mess which was why he was in the field giving everything a good tidy up.
Although it was for one night i didn't have a need to use the facilities to wash and iron clothes and ate out so didn't have a use for the kitchenette.
However i did take a look for future reference and thought it brilliant.
It had all mod cons available I.e washing machine & Fridge Freezer. which i thought was an amazing idea. I find there is nothing worse then not having any where to re freeze ice blocks when needed. The washing machine is paid for at a small cost and this is paid through the honesty policy of a small tin. (i think this is a fabulous way to pay and shows how trusting and nice the host family are)
The shower facilities were clean and tidy, with a strong electric shower for use.
The whole site is pet friendly and they also have a lovely enclosed fire pit for communal use.
In all 1 night wasn't enough on this picturesque site and i will definitely be booking again for the longer duration camping holiday stays.
