I have never felt compelled to review a site before but having visited my fair share I have to say this is the very best. Really amazing place. There are only 5 yurts in the field, and a few cottages which are so hidden away you are never on top of each other and it is very peaceful. The yurts are beautifully decorated and very clean. Each yurt has its own colour scheme which is continued with the kitchen facilities (cutlery, mugs, tea towels etc) which was so quaint but also so useful when sharing the kitchen with other users. And the beds.....oh my goodness the beds were heaven. My 7 year old (6.30am riser all her life) slept until 9am every day. Unbelievably comfortable - the day beds too. The yurts also have wonderful lighting, and a huge tv and plenty of plugs for charging phones etc. Lots of storage space too so we weren't tripping over our clothes/bags at all. Unlike other sites, the owner has provided absolutely everything you could wish for and we needn't have brought any little extras - small things like tea towels, toilet roll, soap, washing up liquid, DVDs were all on hand which makes such a refreshing change from the bare minimum provided by most sites. The kitchen equipment was excellent too - everything you need; can openers, potato peelers, sharp knives, bowls and plenty of pans and baking trays. So great having a fridge too. Toilets and showers were kept scrupulously clean and the sensored lighting very convenient and hygienic too. The pool is a cut above any other - so so warm! My children were in it 5-6 hours per day - even in the rain. (Just a note, it is a level 1.5 metres deep so watch out for little kids jumping straight in unaware when you first arrive!). It was sheer bliss and loads of deck chairs and seating around it too. It was wonderful swimming in the open watching the swallows dive bombing for insects. Andy the owner works tirelessly and is always available to chat/ask questions and sort things out (even on a Sunday). His dog Roxy was a big hit with our kids too and so well trained. There is a great shop less than a mile away which sells everything you could possibly want but you can't really walk to it - very busy road. Perranporth beach is lovely but very strong currents - good that it is so well policed by lifeguards. I heard from other yurt stayers that the other beaches were just as beautiful too - sandy with lots of rocks to climb and rock pools to explore. I could go on and on about this site - it truly is a beautiful peaceful place. The noise from the road was mentioned by other site users, but to be honest the beds were so comfy I rarely noticed it (and I am bit of an insomniac). My only grumble was that Pitchup doesn't provide enough detail about how fabulous this site is and they also stated at the time of our stay that campfires were allowed. This was not infact the case but as soon as I mentioned this to Andy, he immediately built us a little firepit! Nothing was too much trouble for him.
I am leaving such an extensive review because there is so much more this site has to offer which isn't mentioned in the features/description. I cannot rate the yurts, the facilities, the pool and Andy highly enough! Thankyou for a wonderful holiday.
