Brighouse Bay Holiday Park is a must visit site for those who enjoy a remote location surrounded by nature!
It was our first visit to this site, we have stayed all over the UK with our small children but this was by far the best site we have ever been to.
It may not have a kids club or continuous entertainment, but that is Brighouse Bay's charm! Coupled with limited phone signal and weak wifi, Brighouse Bay feels very natural, and you can watch the stars at night our enjoy nature walks by day.
We feel better for being 'disconnected' for a few days.
As for its features, there are two camping fields for those, like us, who don't use electricity hook-ups.
The important stuff -
Toilet block was always clean.
Washing-up area was always clean.
Site was well maintained, and tidy!
Washing facilities were accessible and reasonably priced.
Staff were friendly.
Shop was well stocked. (Also only 10p per block to freeze).
Clubhouse was reasonably priced for drinks, food and snacks.
Play area was fantastic and accessible for younger and older children.
Lots of local walks leading from/to the site.
15min drive from Kirkcudbright and the A75 (which leads to everywhere in South-West Scotland).
Fantastic site, fantastic place, highly recommended!
