Liked: We really liked everything about our stay! Friendly welcome, tent was clean inside, great little fire pit and picnic bench & lovely scenery. The toilet and wash facilities were great too and very clean.

Liked: Lovely location; my daughters particularly liked the chickens and friendly cats wandering about. Our pod was very clean.
Disliked: Four loos and two showers for whole site. Just not enough. Glad we were only staying two nights, solely for this reason. Otherwise we would be back for a much longer stay.

Liked: Attractive, well kept campsite with chickens and horses nearby. Toilet and shower block is regularly cleaned and the owners came down to invite the children to feed the horses one night which was lovely. Great views, organised hassle-free check in, would go again.

Liked: Great service and staff. Fabulous sunset, clean toilets, drinking water provided, beautiful horses. Not crowded. A fire pit was provided, and that made all the difference.
It is not easy to get there but not difficult either. Can get there by bus and walking, bike or car of course.Disliked: –

Liked: The owner was lovely and made us feel welcome on arrival, campsite was great for families as there was plenty of children and activities to keep them busy. Each pitch had a fire pit which was an added touch.
Good location in between Edinburgh and Glasgow.Disliked: We felt that this campsite was more suited to families and not experienced campers.
There weren't enough facilities for the amount of campers and I wasn't able to shower as there were always queues (I tried multiple times).
The facilities were clean and we understand it was an eco campsite but the toilets wouldn't flush, toilet roll had ran out (which was later replenished in the evening) and there was no running cold water at times. I would have spoke with the owners but it was late at night so chose not to disturb them.

Liked: Everything. Clean toilets and shower, although the shower tended to be stone cold.
Owners kept the place clean and tidy and were around without being instrusive.
Fantastic central location with great views.Disliked: Could do with a couple more firepits to keep everyone happy.
Thanks for taking the time to review. The weekend in question was particularly challenging for us. There were several groups that seemed intent in trying to block the toilets with toilet paper. Every time we did our checks we were unblocking toilets. We normally have hand towels but we had to remove them because of covid so we started providing paper hand towels but found that they were getting stuffed down the toilets also, so we removed them as well, as we are on a septic tank we have to be careful what goes into it, we also had major issues with large groups( despite our 1 person at a time notices) entering the toilets and not waiting until the cisterns had refilled before using them again, as an eco campsite we are completely off grid and our systems work a bit slower than in a house. This is not recognised by some campers. We also had several bookings turn up with lots of children that were not booked in, so we had a lot more children than expected on site. We do only have 2 showers, so if its a busy weekend then there may sometimes be a small queue and we try to encourage campers to judge timings for themselves and try to go out with peak showering times. With regards to replenishing toilet paper we have never had as much toilet paper used in a single night as we did on the Saturday of this weekend. We keep on top of it as best we can but obviously we don't replenish during the night so if the paper is misused as it was then it wont get restocked until morning checks.
