First time camping for me and my 4 year old son.
Wasn’t sure what to expect - paid for a tent pitch with electricity. very reasonably priced.
Arrived Friday afternoon to be greeted by friendly smiling faces, escorted to our pitch and shown where everything was.
Ground was fine, plenty of grass a little bit of an ankle breaker next to where you would put the tent, could do with filling in… Had a good look at the other pitches and think i just got a little unlucky.
Upon exploring the facilities i was delighted to see how clean the toilets and showers were, plenty of them too. 3 sinks tor your pots, a large fridge, freezer kettle, toaster and microwave were all available for anyone to use. Shop onsite stocks everything you could need (run out of) milk bacon sausages lots of snacks and drinks - No alcohol which i liked - however i was reliably informed there was a Lidl not far away.
Everyone we bumped into was friendly and helpful.
First night had a few issues sleeping as tent behind us were up chatting all evening quite loudly, could hear them even with ear plugs in. We’re all hear for a laugh but a-bit of consideration would of been nice. Still gassing away at 1am
Other than that i can’t fault it, beautiful views - 30 minutes drive to the nearest big lake where we did motor boat hire and spent the afternoon walking around lovely Keswick. Checkout a place called Puzzle Place which is fantastic for kids and under 5s go free. All in all a fantastic weekend and would do it all again in a flash.
Obviously helped that the sun was shining!
