Lovely campsite, friendly helpful staff

Really bad smell coming from a discharge pipe into the river. When questioned staff agreed the smell was awful but never had any answers until I pointed out the problem.

Location and views from site,as well as proximity to the local pub and river.
Hedges in-between pitches offered a degree of privacy.
Toilet blocks were always clean when we used them, but used our own shower facility so can't comment on 50p value charges

Be aware if staying on fully serviced pitches 6/7 of people taking short cuts to the road over the wall and walking across your grassed area...quite rude.
Also,whilst it is generally fairly quiet overall, early morning traffic is loud and fast.

Very close to neighbours I could hear a tv playing from caravan next door.
£35 per night for a pitch and then an extra 50p for a shower?
Clear on the booking form but really…

Friendly hosts, large pitches, clean utilities, peaceful riverside location, great location. What's not to love about the Old Post Office? We enjoyed our stay so much that we've booked again for 2026. Our favourite site we've visited so far.

Lovely quiet site, we cycled about too - bit suspect can get very busy in high season. Loved the sound of the water. Defo go again.

The site was perfect, the site in general was very clean and constantly being monitored by staff on site during the day. The stream running alongside is a major bonus as my dog and little boy thoroughly enjoyed playing in there. Facilities on site were as good as they could be and clean. The pub on the road was lovely with great food and sky sports. Finally, the campsite was small and well organised so other pitches were not encroaching on ours which was a massive thing for me.

Locks on toilet and wash rooms , key coded with 6 digit code and no lighting at night and sometimes locked with key at the bottom
Hardly any hot water to wash pots , 90% of time washed in cold water or had to boil our own kettle . All pitched are same price as fully serviced but only caravans near the entrance get that facility .

Nice quiet site by the river. The food in the pub just over the bridge was very good. Staff were very pleasant and welcoming. Great location for walks in the wasdale area and on the road towards wast water.
