Poor Facilities
On a slope

Beautiful open field overlooking the coast line right on the coastal path, beaches either side only a short walk away. Perfect location, only basic amenities like compost toilet and clean showers. Peaceful campsite.

We absolutely loved our stay at Porthcothan Clifftop Camping. Jeff was very welcoming and friendly, he comes around each day to make sure all is well which is lovely. We were there to see a few people arrive in tents, Jeff was there to help them find the best place for them to set up as it was very windy, and we even helped them move their tents and set up somewhere more suitable. The toilets and showers are kept lovely and clean, sanitiser left in the toilets which is great and also some spray for you to use after you've used the toilet. This is a beautiful, back to basics, campsite. The site is absolutely lovely, with incredible views. I loved that it is so laid back, you can park up wherever you like so you can get the best views! I love that it is dog friendly and you can have fires (as long as they are elevated from the floor). It can get windy (obviously) but even with the wind we had a wonderful stay. Its a very short walk away from a lovely little beach, beautiful coastal paths and some lovely little places like Trevone. Would definitely visit again and would highly recommend to anyone.

Jeff was incredibly helpful and kind, helped us pitch our tent. The site was lovely, beautiful view, basic but nice facilities. Very windy though, and sadly our tent was too big for the strength of the wind at the campsite and the gusts of wind ended up breaking some tent poles, so we had to decamp at 1am and move on to more stable accommodation! Entirely our fault, but be aware and bring a low tent!

This is a beautiful level well maintained site but very simple .. compost loos are immaculate and there are showers. The owner is really nice.
There is only one standpipe and no sinks so bring a washing up bowl and wash up at your tent / van rather than blocking the area around that tap with your dirty plates and pans !

I do think it’s vital to have a sink to wash hands after using the toilet or at a minimum a tap by the loo Sanitiser alone is not adequate for dirty hands. This is my only suggestion. Otherwise a great site

Location it’s just awesome

Shower, toilet and facilities. Owner ask You to clean toilet after your self but no cleaning products in toilet, plus showers, all camping have 3 of them but only 1 works

Stunning view, good location. 10 minutes to the beach and shop. Spacious place.
