The bar was ok and friendly. The barman gave us one free sambuca (not drinks all night like the response to a fellow campers review below) which was very nice of him.

We did get a free pod although it’s not what we really wanted. I think it was a nice gesture that said being we were positioned less than 600mm from it I don’t think even this site would have the nerve to rent it out!

This place has potential but needs some investment and the finer details taken care of.

The manager was very friendly and a pleasant person. The residents were all very friendly and nice people.

The price is low compared to others however……

Having travelled the UK and Europe camping over the last 20 years I want to give an honest review to this site. Disappointingly there is a lot that’s wrong.

1) This site has power issues when full. Despite the managers reply on other reviews blaming the caravans, I testing the incoming voltage which was low. Your appliances will not work correctly while staying here.
2) The pictures are not correct on this site and are misleading. There is no touring field. We were wedged between Camping Pods.
3) The site had a road being put in and what looked like more handstands for Pods. The work site was not protected and left open to public access. The manager explained the works had overrun but this should have been informed before we turned up!
4) Fire safety distances are not being observed with little to no fire break. You are being positioned between pods. T
5) Shower facilities for the ladies were down to one for the whole site. When we arrived Thursday these were not operating and remained broken throughout our stay. This is despite the owner replying to another review claiming they broke on the Friday.
7) On another review it shows a picture of the wash up sink held up by pieces of wood with the manager claiming it’s the cleaners sink and the reviewer is wrong. This is the wash up sink and to make matters worse you have to walk planks to get to it as the grounds been dug up everywhere.
8) The chemical waste is basically a joke. It’s an open pit in the ground surrounded by mud and no tap provision. Honestly keep your kids away as they can put their hands in it etc.
9) Would recommend a fence around the play area as it’s basically positioned on the road as you come into the site. The park is backed with large conifers which could obstruct the view of a child running into the road.
10) The site was very noisy on two nights. I was woke up at 2am and 4am on separate nights by drunk people shouting. Perhaps some ground rules need to be established.
11) A fellow camper had a nail sticking out near his caravan and I witnessed the manager saying he would get it sorted straight away. He never returned. Perhaps he got side tracked?
12) Unfortunately the long haired barman did place ice into a drinks several times with his bare hands. I observed this with a fellow camper. I am sure this was just because he was busy and was not thinking. The gentleman was nice and helpful.
13) The water point was 5 inch from the ground partially on a hill. It was leaking all weekend creating a small mess around it. It’s difficult to fill up aqua roll.
14) You are being rammed into this site in every direction. Cars were basically crossing pitches etc to get to their pods. One poor lady who was leaving early reversed out and smashed her car into the electric post and damaged her car.
15) No WiFi and limited phone signal.

This is a true and honest review. I note the manager is actively replying to reviews and can see that some of his responses are not true or factual. We left early as many people did with caravans and also staying in the pods.

Great walks near by, friendly host and good atmosphere.

Some facilities could do with an upgrade, the children’s park and wash facilities especially .

The touring field advertised now contains many camping pods. Had this been obvious upon booking we would not have choose to stay here. The photos for the site are very misleading and should be removed.

Very disappointed not to be a given a proper pitch, instead the best option we were given was going in-between two camping pods.

The closeness of pods and other caravans was far too close, to my understanding the basic fire precautions states vans should be 5 meters away from eachother. This was not the case and as the previous reviewer commented everybody was just crammed together.

Toilets constantly without toilet paper and hand wash. Only one female shower for all campers on the 'touring field' which also had to be shared with guests staying in pods - this is unacceptable.

Power kept constantly cutting out our fridge, park manager said it must be an issue with our caravan (never been an issue before and spoke to multiple other campers experiencing the same issue).

There were screw heads poking out of the wooden pods at the eye height of my two year old, raised this issue to management - nothing was done to resolve the problem during our stay.

Guests smoking and issues with noise during the night.

We were disappointed and had enough so like others around us left a night early.

The area is beautiful park is brilliant for little kids and club house so welcoming for everyone of us when we got there with bingo karaoke. you get to see the fighter jets in the sky witch the kids loved .
The shower and toilets are in a log cabin witch is great a really nice site to visit

Couldn't dislike nothing

They seem to be squeezing as many people on as possible. Very difficult to navigate the site with a caravan. No phone signal or WiFi.

Nothing

This site was perfect the pod was clean, they were warm without the heaters on and they were comfy. Enough space for two people (one pregnant wife) and two dogs.
The site had entertainment on all weekend which we didn’t go to but was there if you needed something to do
The shower block were hot, pressure was great and they were always clean

As a lot of people said the toilets did run out of toilet paper but coming on Easter bank holiday it was somewhat expected in non commercial site ,just bring your own that being said I didn’t affect the stay one bit

Honestly for the price you really can’t complain
