The owners were very nice and helpful. Site very tidy and well landscaped. Pitches large enough for our big tent and parking by side, also easy pegging as soft and level. Electric is by meter pay at end of stay, we thought excellent idea. We paid £2.60 for a week and believe me we take everything including a fridge! Facilities although not many were always available when we had to use and again immaculately clean.

Although we read previous reviews before booking and only 1 mentioned it, we found the road noise a minus. The spring water is fine if using for boiling but found it undrinkable as some previous have said it does have a wiff of bad eggs but apparently that is what spring water has.

This is definitely one of the best sites that we have had the pleasure to visit. We were camping and this site is adult only with only 5 tent pitches on the camping field. It was simply bliss, so quiet and peaceful in a lovely location. The facilities were immaculate clean and there was even a fridge in the wash-up room to keep your drinks cold. This came in very handy during the very hot weather this week. The electric hook up is chargeable at the end of your visit, but after 3 days it was only £1.05 and we had a cooler box going full on. We simply cannot fault this place and the owners, Alison and Martin are two super people, both friendly and ever so helpful. We’ve been camping for many many years and I can honestly say that they are the best hosts that we have experienced. Well done to them both. We will for certain return sometime in the near future.

This is a lovely, well kept site with good, very clean facilities and level pitches. Unusually for a small site there is a washing up area and a fridge freezer for campers use. Most pitches have some shade from the small trees which was greatly appreciated as we had some hot days the week we were there. The owners are very friendly and have added some thoughtful touches to the site. There is a pitch and putt course and a nice open area in the centre with picnic tables and solar lights around the perimeter that looked very pretty. We were on a fully serviced grass pitch. The water supply is from a spring and occasionally the pressure drops but it was a minor inconvenience.
It is about four miles from Old Mallon and roughly the same distance from Pickering. Thornton Le Dale is 2 miles away.
I would certainly stay there again.

Poor WiFi signal. I have Vodaphone and only got WiFi twice but most people seemed to have the same problem whichever supplier they were with. Once away from the site I had a signal.

The lovely lady explained where everything was when we arrived. The pitches were well planned and on level ground. There were not too many pitches in total which made it very quiet and peacful. Electricity points were avilable if required and showere/toilet facilities were good with hot water every time.

The front gate was closed at 10:30pm which made us feel we were under kerfew. You have to travel by car to the nearest town which takes 20 mins so if you were having a meal and a drink afterwards this made getting back in time a bit of an annoyance.
