Great location, friendly staff

Way too expensive, have been on equivalent sites at less than half the price location aside

The site was lovely the toilets/showers clean.

the grass was water logged puddles everywhere muddy pitches.
No attempt to help with getting rid of the huge puddles. When we went the shop they insisted they pump the water daily which is not the case at all. Not a single grid on site.

Wish we had booked a hard standing pitch as weather was bad and it was very muddy. We were late booking so no hard standing available

The play area

The pitch, not suitable for a tent so we had to move. First pitch was like a bog. We stayed during storm Betty which was not the ideal. Whether out of their control, our tent was destroyed and we didn’t know what to do so had to sleep in the car with our children. Not one warden came to see us or check if we were ok which I found a little disappointing.

Good family site. 2 decent playgrounds, the midweek pizza van was lovely. Toilets were clean and maintained regularly. Lots of activities close by with a variety of things to choose from. Steam train runs right through the site, as does a stream.

Our pitch was particularly stoney, bring mallet and rock breaker pegs.

The hut itself was good, the camp was kept at a high standard with everything being regulary cleaned And the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.

The campsite had a few walks and trails you could go on and was right to a bus stop.

The kindling they provide for the firepits are a bit big which unfortunately prevented us from havjng a nice fire on the last night as the shop was closed when we started. Also the fire pit was a bit big if you wanted to use it to cook unless you got the flame high.

The area

The pitch we were allocated was like a bog. We appreciated that there'd been a lot of rain but the rest of the campsite was ok. Regardless of the weather which wasn't too bad but not amazing the site fees were very overpriced. Have been to much better for half the cost
