Niepolubione: The campsite is next to a main road and a train track so it was very noisy! I imagine if you are in a campervan it’s not such a big deal but in a tent it was very loud even with ear plugs. We even left early because we were sleep deprived

The nearest road is a single track road which is about 500m away, and the main roads are almost a kilometre away. The railway is even further away than the roads at Cholsey 🤔

Niepolubione: Incredibly hard ground. I had cushions and bedroll and an airbed mattress and even after a night of heavy rain that ground was hard as rock. I know this should be a good thing that my tyres were not jammed in the mud but I thought that was half the fun of traditional English camping with a tent and a car.
We have had a very dry summer haven't we Brian! Not enough rain to allow the ground to soften over a period of time. If you come back nearer the beginning of the season you should find the ground is softer :)
