Nothing the actually site can do but for me the slope was a challenge, you wouldn’t get the views without it but everything had to propped up.

The full experience. I'm still trying to figure out what was different to cost so much.

The showers were shockingly cold (literally) and last around 30 seconds a time.

The swimming pool and other advertised facilities are not within walking distance, after a swim session or big meal it'd be too tiring to walk that distance.

The pitches are on a sloped hill so there's no flat pitches at all and totally exposed to the elements (we had winds up 36mph). There's a very small amount of pitches behind a hedge, if you're lucky enough to get one.

There were a lot of big groups and there were kids still playing at 12pm meaning not a lot of sleep for us. We got so fed up of the noise and trying to sleep on a slope we ended up having to leave early before we became too exhausted.

It is near a bus route but I would not recommend this site for any backpackers, if you're relying on the facilities. The shop stocks more tinned food and toys than anything. WiFi is available for a charge but we were electronic free so I can't comment on the reliability.

The worst camping experience we've had but by far the most expensive. What are they actually charging for? There's nothing extra here and certainly nothing special to cost so much.

Was advertised as having an on site shop and take away, the shop changed its closing time on the night we arrived meaning it closed an hour earlier and the take away truck was closed as it is only open certain days. The camping field is at the very back of the site meaning amenities (I.e. showers, shop, take away truck and beach access) we’re quite a walk away. When visiting the shop one morning there were around 6-10 people including myself waiting from 8am (as that’s the time it stated it opened) until 8.30, when the shop attendant changed the sign to open she left the door closed and didn’t greet/inform the customers who were clearly waiting that the shop was open meaning we all stood patiently waiting for a few minutes after the door had been unlocked and the sign changed as we were all unaware. The main shower and toilet block was extremely outdated with push button showers which were hot one minute and cold the next. The showers were dirty and unkept. The toilets that were located in the camping field were nice however the cubicals were extremely small meaning opening and closing the door was difficult, also I found myself sitting on the sanitary waste box which wasn’t pleasant at all. Although there were attendants who come to the field once in the morning and once at night the toilet block was very dirty, there was no toilet roll, and the floors were left wet (children even fell in the toilets due to the wet floors) even after they had just been up to clean and restock the toilets. To top it off the barriers to the camping field failed to recognise our car and we struggled to enter the field a couple of times, when trying to call the reception and the number provided on the gate (the same numbers) to get help with access I was constantly met with a voicemail as it was before the 10am opening hours.

Location is perfect - very short walk to the beach and some stunning views. The lack of light pollution in Big Berries makes it an ideal place to take my daughter star gazing. I found the checking in process really simple and straightforward, and personally liked the fact I didn’t have to wait, I could literally drive straight in and find a spot to pitch my tent! Really peaceful, quiet, well appointed and great little shop on the premises. Couldn’t speak highly enough of my 3 day break.

The showers were pretty chilly, but think that’s because we used them after the hot water had been used up by other guests.

Location was great, close to beach, local pub, pop up food stalls.
Good that there was a loo in the middle of the camping field otherwise it would have been a long walk to the main block!
Good to see clearly labelled recycling bins next to general waste.
Spar shop on site for emergency groceries.

Bit tricky to find a completely level pitch as camping field is on a hillside, but appreciate you can't change the geography of the place.

I loved the location, friendliness of people, it's a really good holiday destination, we will definitely be back. 👍

Well, as first time campers, the weather could be better, we had to evacuate after first night, coz of the wind and rain, we haven't slept all night 🤣, but I cant be helped :)
