Loved the back to basic style of the campsite, very clean with beautiful views and quick access to the lakes! And our host was brilliant and couldn’t have done enough for us.

What an amazing stay in Ings! John the owner went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and make the most of our stay in the Lake District. He had excellent local knowledge that he shared with us; from local breweries, to activities for rainy days.

The tent pitches up on the hill have amazing views of the surrounding hills, and with fire pits provided, you can sit by your tent and watch the stars without getting too cold.

I couldn't recommend staying at this campsite enough! We will definitely be returning.

Character of the place, and brilliant host!

Johnathan was a great host. The campsite was idyllic, quiet and private. It felt like a lovely escape from the busy campsites! Will be staying again!

Things we liked in short are: free outdoor shower, barbecues for every pitch that you can light up whenever you want, picnic tables, water supplied directly to camp, clean and organised, sufficient parking spacious camping area with individual lots, plenty of space between tents, very picturesque location on top of a hill.

Most importantly, our host Jonathan was always extremely friendly and helpful - he always gave us good travel advice and food/shopping recommendations, as well as helped us with small things like taking our gear up the hill, charging our phones, etc. He keeps the place very tidy and well organised - he's taken care to ensure individual camping lots are on level ground with a good view and supplied with their own barbecue. All in all, great experience.

Loved being at this campsite! I used public transport and it was easy to get to using the train and buses. It was also easy to get to other places to visit using buses and walking. As a solo female traveller I felt very safe and comfortable the whole time at the campsite. John is so welcoming, friendly and helpful. He really went above and beyond to make my trip enjoyable, offering advice on what to do and how to get there - I would return for him alone! The campsite is small and facilities are basic which is what I wanted. If you like the lakes, meeting friendly people and back to basics camping that leaves you feeling wholesome then this is the place for you!

The only thing was it being near a road you could hear cars go by but this did quieten down in the evenings.

Lovely site, nice to be camped in little landscaped niches, rather than just a field. Jonathan is a lovely guy. Very welcoming.
