The whole experience. The location is very centralised to the local amenities and it’s just a lovely area. The site is always well kept and clean. The facilities on site are v.good, obvs there is a clean toilet and shower room and a pot wash with laundry facilities (not sure if this is back in use yet tho) but as well as that on site you have a cafe with sells lovely food, beautiful looking afternoon teas, through summer the chef and team have been pulling off a lovely fishy Friday evening (Still hoping for the BBQ evening the chef has mentioned before). After that there is a ladies boutique which my missus can’t help but have a noisy round every time we go, she’s says there is regularly some bargains to be had. Farm shop which generally has what I need when I realise I’ve forgot something, there is also a tanning salon and dog grooming studio.
Then for the kids these is a small play park that my 2 love to do ninja warrior trails on and this year I’ve seen a bush craft/forestry skills school and then aswell as all that there is also the 5 fishing lake which apparently contains a prize fish???? No a fisherman myself. And almost forgot that from time to time they also do pick your own, we’ve seen strawberries before and think it was last year they had pumpkins!
And after taking in all of that you completely forget how nice, friendly and accommodating the staff really are. I know I say it every time we come guys but really, thank you for the truly wonderful holidays we always have with you! And we’ll seen you again. And so sorry it’s took so long for me to get this on here!

This is not a dislike just a small gripe, the site only books thru pitch up so straight away u have to pay pitch up aswell as the site but the main problem with this is the site cannot vet the booking. So this does mean from time to time the type of campers you don’t want to be next BUT people please. The site runs a no nonsense policy, and they do act upon complaints and they do enforce the nonsense policy when needed. Now PLEASE people most sites have this issue these days so don’t let it put u off, if there is an issue talk nice to the staff about it and they will do everything they can to sort it because they are just that good. Seriously check it out, we think it’s well worth it!

We liked how private the pitches feel, very lovely setting. The play area was a big hit with the kids.

Me and my son really enjoyed our stay. It had what was needed for our fishing weekend. Very clean facilities and a very nice café/ restaurant area with some delicious home made sausage rolls, pork pies etc. The fishing ponds were great fun for our little competition between us with some beautiful Carp swimming around. I even netted one myself. We would definitely come back again.

Small friendly site, nice to walk round the fishing ponds with the dogs , everything was clean and well kept !

Didn’t realise it was so close to such a busy road, lights around the site weren't working so very dark when wanting to go over to the toilet/ shower and main gate was locked very early .

Well what can I say, I don’t really normally leave reviews but on this occasion I feel I need to.
We arrived at site at a very busy time as the check in was in the busy cafe I wasn’t sure I was in the correct place. I smiled at a male member of staff who completely blanked me. I waited patiently again while the female members of staff run around. He passed again so I asked him politely if I was in the correct place to check in for the caravan park. He looked at me like I was the dirt under his shoe and was told to just wait. I shrugged off what I thought might of just been a bad day.
I was eventually served by the female member of staff who was darting between both tills.
We was allocated our pitch and off we went. The pitch sizes are good size and small hedges in between pitches which was a nice touch.
The following day we left the caravan and went into the local town we was gone for about 2 hours on our return I was absolutely mortified the whole awning inside and out was covered in flying ants.
Now I know it’s the middle of summer and it’s nature but a little help from the owners would have been nice.
I got the children away and opened all the awning up. Spraying with my own ant spray and then leaving the caravan all day. I approached the owners and explained we was on top of an ants nest and asked if the spray I provided didn’t help would it be possible to move. There was a free pitch opposite us and I asked if we could move on it, we was basically told no unless we was prepared to leave early as it was booked out to some regulars coming who never turned up so that was obviously a lie to stop us moving. There was 4 empty hard standing pitches and was never given the option of using one of them despite them being empty the whole time was was there.
I was made to feel that I was just moaning. No one came to see if we was ok and not even the next day did anyone ask us if we was ok. No one came to look at the pitches the next day or approached us, Me my hubby and my children was all bitten to death.
The owners told me they only last for 24hours so to just get on with it.
The following day we still had the ants they was all over the inside of the caravan and we hardly spent anytime there was we was just getting bitten.
We wasn’t asking for anything other than to move I do understand it’s summer but a caring smile or even offering to help or if need any help, anything just to show you actually care about your guests.
The ponds are £8 per days to fish but they are not looked after at all, the owners are just cashing in with out looking after the ponds. They are full of weeds are over run with rats. Massive big rats who are running round all day and night.
There is no vermin boxes near the caravans but the rats are running up and down.
There is a member of staff living in a scruffy looking caravan on site. He is not friendly or helpful with zero people skills.
My husband was accused by him of night fishing because he was 5 mins late packing up one night because he had got chatting to another camper but i received a finger pointing text reminding me of the rules. I have a 5 year old any a 12year old at no point would anyone by night fishing from our caravan so for being 5 mins late packing up to a keyboard warrior sending out texts but when I was over run with ants no one wants to help you. Didn’t find time to text me to see if we needed anything.

This site should be a little gem but with the horrendous staff and pure lack of care for anyone staying on the site. We absolutely would never stay again. It’s just a money making side line for them.

Our caravan is now having to be fully sprayed with ant spray our food has all been thrown away due to ants running in every cupboard.
Just be careful if u have a stay planned. Be prepared to be bitten to death and left to sort any problems out by yourself.

Wifi isn’t reachable let alone working.
