We loved staying here. The campsite is so chilled and peaceful. It was like living in an orchard. You are surrounded by fruit trees and raspberry bushes. The rasberries were gorgeous and I ate a lot! The poly tunnels were full of different varieties of vegetables, tomatoes and fruit. They have inspired me to start growing my own next year.
To get to the onsite pub you walk through an outside area with strings of lights above your head. There is outside and covered seating in a large open barn area. The place has a magical feel when lit up in the evenings.
There was a large group at the pub and in the outside area one evening, but it didn't impact on us at all.
The staff are lovely, and helpful and gave us tips about places to visit locally, and the food is delicious. They use a lot of their home grown produce. We loved the lemoncello!
The toilets and showers are rustic, but that didn't bother us at all. The showers worked well and they were always stocked with paper etc.
If perfect, squeeky clean showers and toilets is your priority on a camping holiday, this wont be for you.
To us camping is about spending quality time outside, with nature and away from the sterile, rat race. However, the free WiFi worked well!
Also, our children are grown so it was great to find a peaceful campsite in the middle of the summer holidays.
We will definitely be returning, it's now my favourite place to camp!

Close.proximities of functions - packing away of many bell tents from a wedding do, teenager party in barn going on until midnight followed by lots of car noise picking them all up.

Very welcoming, the pub was lovely with excellent food. Clean facilities and well lit route to the pitch. Good size pitch. Lovely to have a wander around the site in the morning and see the fruit trees and poly tunnels.

A bright light shone on our pitch throughout the night and there was music playing all night.

A beautiful cheap campsite with large pitch space, behind a lovely pub with a huge outdoor sheltered area for the rainy days (of which 3 of the 4 were). Staff in the pub were friendly and helpful, happy to answer the questions I had about the area. I was there Thursday until Monday. The campsite was busy on the Saturday but everyone was respectful and music was turned off by 10. Fairly basic facilities. The washing up area does have hot water though. Showers were hot, but could turn cold - I assume if someone else was showering/flushing a toilet. The 5 toilets (3 have showers in) were fine while I was there, and I didn't have to wait at all.

Loved the wildness of the campsite plants. I had wild raspberries growing next to my tent.

The only thing that would be really useful would be somewhere to re-freeze ice blocks. But that isn't a complaint. I will happily return

The location was good and as it was Sunday the site was quiet and peaceful.

The showers were dirty and in need of updating.

Really friendly and helpful staff. Please of space and shelter from wind. Nice hot showers. Pub on site is an added bonus.

Friendly staff and excellent food in the pub

Washroom and toilet facilities are inadequate for the number of pitches. In addition they are also used in the evening by visitors to the pub. Two of the washroom doors had missing locks.
