Absolutely phenomenal! Nestled in the heart of nature, this campsite is nothing short of legendary. From the moment we arrived, we were enchanted by the pristine surroundings and the sheer tranquility that enveloped us. The facilities were immaculate, The staff were exceptional, providing service that went above and beyond, making the place spot on. The scenic beauty, combined with the warmth of the campfire under a canopy of stars, created an experience that was nothing short of magical. This campsite is a true gem, an oasis of peace and beauty. Five stars, without a doubt!

Lack of WiFi and phone reception was more of a problem than I thought it would be. The showers are a little walk from the camp ground.

Nice location next to a river.

Easy to access Buttermere and Keswick although the main route up Scafell Pike is actually 1.5 hour drive from here.

The showers are not on site and you need to leave the camp and cross a road over to be farm. They are only open 8am-8pm which was not ideal when we were out early and then wanted to shower after dinner.

No phone signal whatsoever. There is WiFi in the pub opposite the farm building but it was quite inconvenient when trying to plan activities.

We opted for a pitch away from the river because there were mosquitoes everywhere.

There is no hot water at the washing up area or in the toilets. There were just two toilets nearby which have birds nesting in them and squark at you when you enter.

There was no staff on site but a rather flustered lady did come around at 9pm banging on peoples tents for payment - I think the owners were away.

Lovely site, some pitches were on a slant buy would be perfect locations if they were flattened. Had hoped burgers and sausages were available however no sausages. Owner was away when we visited so a lady was helping to manage the site.
Stayed Sunday to Thursday and although the local dog friendly pub has WiFi, it was closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Would be handy if the cafe offered got breakfasts or lunches on those days when it's too wet to cook. Also WiFi at the main cafe area would be a bonus as trying to search sat nav locations for walks wasn't easy as had to drive into keswick just to access Google maps to come half hour back down to the campsite to go where we wanted to go. No option to plug in hair dryers at the site. Charging facilities weren't great as had to knock on the farm house for someone to charge for you and collect later. Would benefit from a plug area available to only guests. Beautiful location and showers are roomy and warm. Lots of midges which can't be helped. I would return but would hope once the site is more popular, the pub may open every day.

Location, scenery

Normally great site, have been coming here for years. rather ruined this time by noisy neighbours up late playing music. Also drainage could be better on the site in heavy rain.

The location is beautiful and peaceful, just what we wanted! The best part was the wood fired pizzas on Saturday night at the campsite's barn.
The facilities were good. The showers were very clean. The showers were a short walk from the campsite to the barn.
There are plenty of walks to do from the campsite and a nearby pub for a pint in the beer garden.

Lovely and secluded, great pitch. Bit of a walk to the shower block but manageable. We drove it because we are a bit old and lazy, keeping the energy for the Scarfell Pike walk. Which is straight off the site. Toilets nice and clean. Lovely bit of river flowing along the camp.

The walk to Scafell almost seen us out as we had taken a long route. Only fifteen mozzie bites, was hoping for at least twenty.

Loved the location, nice to have toilets so close, short walk to the showers which were awesome!

What a beautiful place!
This is a fabulous site, everything you need for camping, the home made pizzas on a Saturday night were amazing, beautiful little area to eat them in or take them back to your tent, lovely little pub a few mins walk away, great walks, toilet block was cleaned regularly and only a short walk away for our tent, we loved everything about this place it was perfect. Dan the owner was lovely and was around if you needed him. Thank uou for a lovely stay.

Lots of midges but with bug spray and a little camp fire made, kept them at bay, but you are in nature so to be expected.
Bit muddy in places but then again when it rains in the lakes it rains! Can't be helped. Looking forward to coming back.

Great little site. Fantastic value for money. Just pitch up anywhere and the owner comes round in the evening to check you in. No mobile phone reception, so a great excuse to disconnect.

Its a bit of a trek to the showers if you're at the far end of the site. Not really an issue if the sun is shining, but it's not fun in the rain
