One of the best campsites we’ve stayed at this year. Lots of choice of pitches and lovely views from wherever you are. Two separate toilet/shower blocks plus a couple of portaloos for really busy times. Large washing up area and hot water. Couple of taps handy for upper and lower camping areas and really quiet area. Just a 10 min walk down the hill to the lake and a further 5 mins and you’re in town. Lake great for water sports and the cafe serves lovely food. Basic menu but very very tasty. Best burger I’ve had in a long time!!

Would definitely return to this site again as seems to be loads of walks around the area which we never had a chance to explore. Worth a wander around the rock park too. Right next to town but doesn’t feel like it. Although I’m still perplexed why it’s called the rock park when there are no rocks 🤷‍♂️. Nice easy paths through it too which is good for muddy days.

Wish we’d had more than two nights here 😔

The peace and quiet, beautiful views and amazing sunsets.
The pitches are well spaced and level.
Facilities are fine, a little dated but nothing wrong with that, all you need.

stayed 26th to 29th august bank holiday also stayed the previous weekend .complete difference in both stays .
Bank holiday weekend saw as another reviewer wrote, dogs not being kept on leads and being allowed to roam onto pitches where dogs were kept on leads and the inevitable happening ( barking ).I actually told one owner who was walking her dog that the dog had actually had a poo. Lovely site and scenery lovely but during bank holiday I would say not enough facilities for full capacity of campers , only 2 toilets with shower in same cubicle and 2 porta loo's. As another reviewer stated , queue for washing facilities. previous weekend to the bank holiday , we were on sited where only 2 campers pitched and few on other sited fields . Again there were several dogs which I have to say were kept on leads . I know its down to owners to maintain the ruling of dogs are to be kept on lead but maybe when it is obvious this isn't happening then the owners should approach them and ask then to adhere to the rules and if again seen not to be keeping their dogs on leads , kindly ask them to leave I would visit again as the distance from the nearby lake and town is ideal and despite steep climb back up its not end of the world .We had 2 children with us and old enough to know what is acceptable behaviour but when young children and running around (which is what caravanning is all about ) this is not the site for them as not enough space at full capacity for young children to be running around other campers and playing ball as I believe confrontation from other camper could occur , We had to tell small children to leave our dog alone and to stop running around the camper and stop looking into awning when their parents were just sat there ignoring situation. Another 2 couples had said the same so not just our opinion but like us didn't make fuss to avoid confrontation.

The owners were pleasant and welcoming. The site and facilities were clean and well maintained. The views were great. I enjoyed many walks into town and beside the lake, however if you are not fit beware ,the site maybe flatish but it is on a hill and quite an uphill pull "home".

Location was fantastic, an easy walk into Llandrindod Wells.
Views from the site were stunning.
Walks from the site were wonderful.

Bank Holiday Weekend:
- Site felt cramped and overcrowded.
- Not having allocated pitches and having to drive around the small areas to find one.
- Pitch almost impossible to drive pegs into, as if there was a concrete pad under it.
- Dogs running lose off leads, despite signs everywhere stating they were to be kept on leads. (As always, minority spoiling it for the majority - needs enforcing by wardens, mostly great dog owners, but then their dogs on their pitches were being bothered by the lose dogs.)
- Hot water not always available.
- Two showers not adequate for the amount of people on site, and when the showers were in use, two portable toilets were insufficient too for the number of people on site on a Bank Holiday Weekend.
- Larger bathroom would benefit from a set of pegs by the foot of the bath to hang towels, clothes etc on while showering. Would be good to have a mop and bucket at each bathroom to enable a quick clean after use.
- Bathroom Facilities need checking more often eg running out of hand towel at 9.00am and still not replenished by midday and having to ask for more.
- One sink for washing up, insufficient for the number of people on the site.
(The facilities would be adequate on a week day out of peak season - sadly insufficient on a Bank Holiday Weekend, when the site appeared to be fully booked.)

Quite rural site. Good if you like hill walking.

For an elderly or disabled person a 10 minute hilly walk to the nearest bus stop could be a problem.

Would be handy to have separate toilet facilities to the shower room, felt a bit guilty about showering.
