Good to see you enjoyed some of the extra features we offer at Irton House, and that endless heated pool always looks inviting with that view. It just means you will have to come back again to try out the E-Mountain Bike Tour, Clay Target Shooting and Indoor Air Rifle Shooting next time.

It is well worth coming just for the stunning view to be honest but when you add in the friendly welcome and superb facilities it makes the trip even more worthwhile.
We were on the Latrigg pitch. It’s own ehu with plenty of amps, we have a large tourer but had no problem with electricity tripping out. The water point is close, as is grey water and cdp.
We had a clay shooting experience which was great fun and professionally run, perfectly safe and something very different.
Lin and Nic are the perfect hosts, nothing is too much trouble. They are always happy to stop for a chat and spend time with their guests.
Bear in mind, this is a working farm do you may hear sheep munching during the night!In all this is the perfect spot to explore the North West Lakes. We will certainly visit again!

Thanks for the great review. The horses and sheep always like visitors and our farm educational/fun tour in the quad bike trailer, around the 250-acre farm fields, proves to be very popular with the kids and to be honest with the adults too.

Each pitch has its own firepit, wood can be purchased on site and lasts ages. You can’t beat sitting around a fire and watching the stars!
The toilets, showers and kitchen area are close by to the pitches and have everything you need. The kitchen makes the most of the view across Bassenthwaite, there is no better spot to do your washing up!!! There’s even a small communal freezer that we found very useful.
The toilets and showers are always kept clean. The showers are lovely and hot and now have the addition of chairs which help when getting changed, and would be perfect if you need to sit whilst showering.
Overall the site is excellent, we have now been two years in a row and would definitely return again. Also have to mention that the couple that run the site are fantastic! Extremely welcoming and are always available if there’s something you need.
Ik was niet zo blij met: Nothing to dislike. My only recommendation would be to have some paper towels in the toilets block, as there is currently no way of drying your hands.

We did try paper hand towels, when we first reopened the refurbished shower block, but were constantly picking wet towels off the wetroom floors and removing them from blocked central floor shower drains. They were also getting used a toilet rolls, which blocked the toilets, so had to stop using them. We also stayed away from electric hand dryers as part of our government farm eco targets, so not sure there is an easy answer, Selling little hand towels maybe, but do appreciate your feedback. We will keep thinking.
