The host tried to accommodate us and apologised throughout.

At least we had heating and gas for cooking and the caravan was ok.

The host didn't even know we had booked the caravan.

Arrived and the host stated that he thought he had cancelled.

Had no shower, no toilet in caravan.

Had to use facilities on site which cost a quid and my partner didn't even have hot water she had to have a cold shower.

We was told that we would be given a £1 each for shower never received.

It wasn't what we expected after having to travel through the extreme weather conditions.

Flat site, well kept. Basic facilities that keeps the price low. Friendly owner.

The lovely quiet site, helpful and friendly owners. The caravan we stayed in was lovely and had everything we needed for a short stay.

be aware there is animals across the fields, such as donkeys etc could hear them through the night but not major

Beautiful location and small green site.

I have to say that this site is something of a rip-off compared to others we stayed in our recent tour. £29 for one shower (which required £1 coinds to operate) that was so grubby we didn't dare use it. Two of the three toilets were old and pretty grim too with no hot water or working hand dryers. There was one slightly newer toilet with hot water and a working hand dryer.

The toilet paper ran out twice and the dustbins were overflowing.

For the same price we have stayed in sites with pristine showers, including one which had 8 self-contained little units with sink toilet and shower all in one private room.

The owner was friendly and came round a couple of times to check all was well, but it was hard to know where to start with all the issues with the lack of facilities.

Given the beautiful location we would be happy to return once the services have been brought up to date.

Basic facilities but not over priced for what you get, we still loved it!

Small campsite, not busy and so relaxing. This is a budget campsite with enough facilities to let you camp without a fuss. All facilities are basic, and yet in order. There was an issue with water, but it turned out there had been a leak, and the wrong water mains turned off. Nevertheless the owner rectified as soon as the matter was brought to his attention. The toilets and showers are kept tidy enough, but it should be said when there are some disgusting campers who don't know how to clean up after themselves, then don't blame the site!
Lovely views, and great walks nearby. No near shops, but able to buy some basic stuff from another nearby campsite whilst out walking. Even managed to buy a loaf of bread from a cafe a couple of miles away whilst walking too! There is a donkey sanctuary nearby and you could see the animals there. They did make a few noises at odd times, but didn't bother us. The owner is proud of his peacocks and they are worth a look.
Overall, we enjoyed out stay, and our chats with the owner who appears to be always on the go, either on site or off.

Nothing. I didmake a mistake whilst booking, so please make sure you add electric on later on line if not stated. Make sure there are no 'extra' on booking. It's not always clear. Not owners fault though, responsibility of camper to check.

Perfectly adequate budget campsite. There's 3 toilets on site and a shower, kitchen sink and chemical loo disposal. There's a pub and camp shop on the site next door and it's in a good location for travelling to Buxton, Bakewell and walks around the area. We had no issues with the owner, who was friendly and helpful. He was able to have our two booked pitches next to each other despite our last minute booking. There was no issues with cleanliness, attitude or parties like other reviews have. I mean, it's less than £10 a night, it's not the Hilton! Would definitely stay here again.
