We visited Five Acres Farm Campsite for the first time at the end of July during the summer holidays. It was busy, as to be expected but there was plenty of space for everybody, and you didn’t feel crammed in or overcrowded like some sites. There was still plenty of space for children to play. There was a great atmosphere too whilst we stayed, from motorcyclists, small families, groups of friends, hikers to maturer families.
The facilities were immaculate, especially the toilets, and the shower blocks, with warm powerful showers. Plenty of information available in the pot washing room, from local walks, good restaurants, pubs, local attractions, takeaways, shops, and services such as doctors, etc. One of the things that we liked the most was the fact that everybody was quiet by 22:00, everybody respected the rules. The views are fantastic, and we were very fortunate to witness a beautiful sunset. The pitches were well maintained, and mown short, and the pitches were generally flat for easy pitching. The owners were very helpful, and personally greeted you once you had pitched up - you choose your own pitch on arrival which is great! The owners were seen chatting to all the new campers arriving, which made your stay feel more welcoming, and in the evening they travelled around the site with fire pits and logs for hire in their 4x4. We shall definitely be returning to Five Acres, a fantastic site with great hosts, facilities, and a grand location.

Easy to find, well signposted and warm welcome. Lovely views and pitch where you like with car next to tent. Showers clean with handy shelves and mirror, steps up to them. Plenty of toilets, never had to wait for any facilities even with the campsite busy. Found some good walks from the site through nature reserves and woods. Local pub welcome and traditional.

Main road nearby does create some background noise but nothing the owners can do about that!

Spacious clean campsite with great toilet/shower/washing facilities and sweet farm animals surrounding. Also, lovely views of the rolling hills around and not far from interesting trails.
